This reminds me of an LJ story, which is probably the highest compliment I can give you. LJ stories, by ratio, have more breath than Mibba stories. Hate to say it.

My thought upon the first part, with Brendon admiring the bowl sort of made me sigh. Like 'oh, it's going to be one of those' stories with entirely too much emphasis on the marijuana and how pretty it is. Nope, not at all. So glad I kept reading.
The focus on Brendon here was great. I mainly focus on Ryan and that's what I tend to read, so a well-written Brendon-focus amazing for me. It's something refreshing. I thought it was sort of amazing how incredibly they played the game. Just not talking about it, pretending, forcing shit without trying too hard. The pain is never focused on until after.
The doll made me hopeful and bitter at the same time.
