Of course I read this and immediately got extremely sad. Anything about Sirius Black makes me want to cry and this just made it worse.

I was pleasantly surprised though, in the fact that it wasn’t in Sirius’ point of view and instead you opted into writing through the point of view of a character most people seem to forget when it comes to Sirius Black.

In my head, I always imagined Regulus as being stuck to his family believes from the time of birth until he became a Death Eater, but this was a good change from my headcanon. It’s nice to think that Sirius had a friend growing up in that house and that he wasn’t all alone for all those years.

And although I know it would be nice for Sirius to have read that letter later on in his life, I know he didn’t and that makes me sad again.

This was just one of the best Sirius Black/Regulus Black stories I've read on here.

Oh deer lawd Piggy... that was so good. One of the best one shots I've read in a long, long time. Your story had an aura of angst and sadness and it just fit in with the image of the Black brothers so well. I can really see Regulus as a person who does things for others, even if he doesn't want to. Oh and that bit aboot Sirius being attractive... damn straight he is.

Your writing is so good so just stawp. Deer lawd. Everything was perfect... your characters, your dialogue, the way you jumped in time to only include the important bits. Gaaah stawp it.

    LOVED THIS. O:

The Black family has always interested me, so naturally, I was sucked in right away. Those prestigious Blacks, thinking they're better than everyone! Pish posh. Clearly you have done your research here! You didn't just talk about the obvious characters like Sirius and Bellatrix and Regulus. You talked about all the Blacks, which I really liked.

I really liked this: "For the first time in years, they had noticed the fly on the wall. They looked to the overlooked. They noticed the insignificant."

I also really like how you compare Regulus and Sirius. Sirius is brave, he has a spine. Regulus is weak! He carries the weight of his family's expectations because he's not brave enough to do anything else. It's sad, because they were so close, and then they just went different ways and grew apart. The letter at the end was really sad too! Regulus wanted to join Sirius and he could have all along, if only he'd read the letter when it came. And then Sirius did the same thing Regulus did all those years ago! Oh, dear. I really liked that ending. A lot. Great job on this. (:
