Oh wow. That was just...intense. I mean, it was really great, but definitely intense. I really liked it.
The connection to the quote was amazing. And of course, 'menace' was certainly there. I got the couple picture a bit, but then again, I totally get that it's hard to be super cute when you're word is menace, haha. But then there was bottle. Did I just miss that or what? I saw the connection in the summary, but not in the actual story.
I really think this would be a cool story to turn into full length. Like, if you started towards the beginning of their relationship and went more in depth about everything. The summary for this was almost just too good because it went into so much and the story didn't really touch on all of it. So that's what's making me think this would be a really good full length story if you ever wanted to do that :p
I'm kind of a sucker for abuse stories, as weird as that may sound. I especially love when the abuser has a huge internal struggle, which William definitely did. I also really love that Alex finally put his foot down. It's great seeing those kinds of strong willed abuse victims in stories, because a lot (fictional and real) don't.
Also, and this doesn't have much to do with anything really, I really like their names. They're both simple and common but they just seem to fit the characters well and also work well together.
But anyways, this comment totally got out of hand, but oh well.
I really liked this story a lot and good luck in the contest! :D
