Can I say that I love this. I love the fact that he just joined the game unannounced for fun. That she is giving him for a lack of a better word. "normal" people moments
I think you can go any number of directions in this story, really. He's met her pub friends, he could meet Nate and her old friends whom she surrendered in the break-up. She could meet his friends. She could get a deeper taste of his 'real' life. Her parents. His family. Loads of directions, really! SO much potential, IMO! And it's such a tasty read.
I LOVE THIS STORY!! Seriously, it had me smiling and tearing up and doing fist pumps because Sid is actually described having sex (and very well, I might add). I could tell by the last chapter that you've reached kind of an impasse in the story--anyone who writes will hit that dead spot--but think how you would want it to end and let that inspire you. And thank you so much for reading and commenting on my story!
I really liked this, I hope you'll consider updating again! You could use a bit of beta-read as some typos don't get caught by spell check (surly instead of surely, barley instead of barely) but overall it's good and I like the story line!
As sweet as this story is, I always read a little sadness into it. Sadness that Sidney has to bear the burden of Pittsburgh - heck the entire NHL - on his shoulders and constantly be "on". That he cant be a regular 24 year old guy, and do the things all of his childhood friends do. It was nice that he had that moment on the ball field where he could just be Sid.
It is also nice that he has someone like Emma who sees this and understands this.
