I liked this a lot. It was totally platonic, which is extremely hard to find in fanfiction lately, and the whole time she didn't once admit to being deeply in love with him all along or any of that shit. That was a nice, refreshing spin on it. And you got all your facts straight, another semi-rarity; and you got Duff's personality on spot too. So kudos to you for that.
And I also like how you mentioned his heart breaking and stuff toward the end. It showed that even though his main goal in life is numbing everything out, he can still hurt.
My only suggestion is adding in a little more emotion throughout the story. Shea seemed a little lifeless. But otherwise, I loved it. :) Good work!
