Hmm, this could get really dangerous for her if Apollo decides to pursue her. D= And I couldn't believe the terrible timing at Helen leaving! Though I suppose there had to be drama somewhere. XD
Short chapter, but it gave us something important to look at - the Gods know that Roxanne knows their secret! D= That makes me really nervous, but also really excited to see what you do with it!
Sorry this comment is so short. I'm seriously lacking sleep this week and don't know what else to say.
I've been interested in Greek mythology since I was really little, so this story really makes my inner child happy. I've not been into my mythology for about a year or so though, but this might just have brought me right back into it! I absolutely adore the fact that you have Dionysus and Apollo as these one-night-stand characters, and that you have them adding in little clues and tidbits that would lead towards them being found it. It's all been so cleverly executed, I love it! I'm also quite excited about Artemis arriving. Like Haylie Jaed, Artemis is my favourite of the goddesses, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how you interpret her throughout the story and how she ties in. I hope she gives Apollo a good kicking, ha!
Your main characters are really realistic as well. I've definitely met people like Helen before, all air and happiness and no realism, so reading about Helen and her lack of knowledge of the Greek gods (even though she's peaking to two of them!) is really a slight amount of comic relief - really slight though, it doesn't detract from the story itself but gives a little welcome relief. Roxanne seems very down-to-earth and realistic about everything and starring beside Helen, that makes a really good contrast to read about. I always love seeing people with opposing personalities and how their friendship unfolds, because you're always going to have slight disagreements or one person isn't going to get everything that the other says and you've portrayed that really well throughout the chapters that you have up. I hope to see more of that in the future chapters, even if it isn't the main focus!
And of course, your writing style. Quite lovely, everything flows together well and I don't think I noticed any grammar or spelling errors when I was reading through. Then again, I was quite transfixed by the storyline itself, so I don't know, haha! You've obviously done a lot of research for this piece as well, so that's really nice to read as well, especially seeing as such an integral part of the story needs a lot of research.
Honestly, I can't fault this. It's an interesting storyline with great characters, and I'll be subscribing to see what happens next!
Artemis is my favourite Greek goddess I think, so it was lovely to see her appear here. ^_^ I wasn't certain it was her at first though, because I'm so rusty on my legends. Some research might be in order!
I noticed there were only five chapters up, and I had some time before work, so I decided to read. And I am glad that I did.
Last week I finished reading the Starcrossed trilogy by Josephine Angelini, so the Greek Gods are still on my mind. It's great to find a new story where I can get my fix! I am definitely excited to see where you take this. =)
And I can't help wondering if Helen was named Helen for a reason. ;)
Can't wait to see who's currently talking to Roxanne!
