Love, love loooooooove this story! Mostly because I'm a huge sucker for mermaids that aren't Ariel. (I can't stand that movie. DX) It's also because I think that your writing style is fantastic and your characters are wonderful, delightfully quirky and relatable.
Also! I totally caught the Bermuda Triangle reference and I can't help but wonder if it's a coincidence or not that Jonah's middle name sounds a lot like Winston Churchill. :)
Keep it up! I've recommended, subscribed and will wait for updates with bated breath!
Chapter Four: Wow, what an odd chapter! I bet that girl is a siren! But she's on land...eh, some how I know she is! I also like the sort of relationship Hank and Jonah have, partly because it's a little odd. You'd almost expect Hank to be rude and bad ass, but not to his little 'ole nephew! Awww sweet Hank!
Chapter Five: Aquarius seems interesting. I love the violet eyes, characters with purple eyes just rock my world. (Ahem, Pierre). I think this is another good chapter and I can't wait to see where it goes next!
Oh, and I caught the Bermuda Triangle reference! :D
Chapter Six: Bwahahaha, "what's a casserole?" I love a mermaid on land. I assume this is her first time too. So far this story is really good, though it needs to be updated! I really do enjoy it. I can't see how his dreams play into the story and what role Aquarius will play.
Chapter Two: Good chapter, mainly because your introduction to the main character went so well. Already, I can tell that he is the down trodden type and is not very smiley. Also, I think it's pretty odd that he dreams of the sirens, but I guess I'll find out why later!
Also, a familiar name! Connor!
Chapter Three: I had a long comment all written up for this section but my dumb laptop erased it... Anyway, it basically said that this is another great look into Jonah, his life, and his outlook. While his father's leaving may be his mother's fault, I still feel like he overreacted. Still, I think he's an interesting characters.
Summary/Layout: I adore the layout, very much so, but what gets me is the summary. It's beautifully written and is very intriguing and dark. You've done a good job pre-setting the mood and I can't wait to start.
Chapter 1/Prologue: Ah, Hank Harding. I remember the first time I read the first chapter or two, he had been such an interesting character and I stand by that claim. He is easy to picture and is exactly what I assume he would be- sort of a bamf. Anyway, I think the chapter is great, excellently conveying that Bud often lied, and was not entirely a good person, and also introducing the siren threat subtly. It ends in a cliffhanger, so I'm going to move into the next chapter :)
Chapter Two: (coming back to this soon, some technically difiiculty right now)
Evil mermaids is right. They are the sirens of the sea. The beauties of the deep out to kill any and all sailors who cross their paths. That summary was the perfect definition of what a mermaid would do to a simple fisherman. Men like him are definitely food for the flipper females. Anyways, this has, so far, been yet another great piece of work by you. I do hope that you don't put this one on hiatus as I would like to subscribe to this, and hopefully see an update soon. I would definitely like to know if this 'Aquarius' is just as evil and conniving as her possible kin, or just as she seems to be in that last chapter.
LOVE THIS OH MY GOSH I love how Aquarius is so nonchalant and normal about everything. PLUS, WHO WOULDN'T NAME THEIR KID AQUARIUS? actually a lot of people but IT'S AN AWESOME NAME. please update soon!
I love the name Jonah! Great update. You update at a rapid pace. I like that. Jonah Winston Hirschel! This name is so cool and I want it... like, now. Oi, glad to see that Hank's making a come back.
I'm already so intrigued by this story. You pull me in like a fish reel, and you always seem to do that. I love it. I can't wait for the next chapter, so I hope you update soon!!
I really loved this story. The plot is fascinating and incredibly though out and the characterisation of Hank is superb. You managed to write a great fictional piece of fantasy writing without it being over the top and completely ridiculous. Well done, and bravo!
