I am so glad that Caroline got the help she needed and can start on a new healthy life. It will not be easy - there will still be some hurdles to overcome, but something makes me think she wont be alone in facing many of those obstacles.

Sidney was so cute in "starting again" - I think he sees the courage it took for Caroline to get that help and also face him after all he said.

Cant wait for the sequel.

Taylor cracks me up - stealing Sid's phone for blackmail material!! But she does make a bit of a point.

But the thing about helping someone is that they have to be ready to receive the help. I dont know what Caroline is up to, but she did appear to be close to opening up to Sid - the drinking binge was because she was scared of the new feelings she was having for him.

I think Sid should stop using Alexa to find out about Caroline, and call her himself. Maybe that is what she needs to start moving forward- to know he truly does care.

I would definitely read a sequel.

I think Caroline is an imperfect character - which I like - who will need time to evolve. I think we have only scratched the surface in seeing who she is...or maybe who she can be.

And as angry as Sid is, he really does care about her - or he wouldnt be as angry. He would have simply washed his hands of the whole situation.

Caroline helped Sid heal physically, but unfortunately Caroline's emotional wounds will need much more.

What a beautiful chapter. I had a feeling that Caroline's story had to do with a fiance/husband dying, but it was still heart-breaking. I'm glad that she is finally deciding to open up to Sidney, because I think they both need each other in a way. I can not wait to see where you take this story. I'm sure whatever direction you take it in, it will be brilliant!

Well that certainly cleared up some stuff - I was pretty sure she was married to a serviceman who had been killed - it explained her anger and reluctance to date.

I also get that there was a reluctance to return to the pool - the sacrifices an elite athlete makes to achieve their goals, and in Caroline's case it was the Olympics, can seem hollow when the goals are left unfulfilled. Especially in Caroline's case, as her grief surfaced at a time she was most vulnerable, and she was not able to even make an attempt on her goal. Her treatment after - having to apologize - was cruel. She should not have had that guilt piled on her. I can understand why she shut down.

But the one thing is that the pool could ultimately be her sanctuary - that swimming that 200M probably felt freeing to her - almost like she was coming home. To get to the Olympics, you swim a lot of laps - a lot of the time in the early morning - and there is a solitude about it. It gives you time to sort a lot of things out.

Maybe Sidney needing to be physically healed will help Caroline with her emotional scars. I think that he got her to open up a bit speaks volumes. But she didnt fess up that she liked the kiss!!!

Those last two chapters were great. I adore Alexa, and her role in this story. I'm still super curious about the ring though, and I really hope that Sid is wrong and that he didn't just fuck up everything! lol. Great update(s)!

It is cute that Alexa started to play matchmaker - and she may not be far off.

It is amazing how a little wine can loosen things up. Both Sid and Caroline seemed to learn a lot over dinner, but what is it they say about "Loose Lips".....Hmmm Sid seemed to really get to her. But was it good or bad.

I think he scared the crap out of her - maybe brought up some old feelings that she had buried.

Ok - somehow I screwed up on subscribing and missed two updates, but everything seems to be ok now.

Caroline seems to have a lot of secret drama that I am guessing will come out in due time. I am wondering if she was married to a serviceman who was killed in action - that is why she still wears the ring and doesnt date.

Her interaction with Sidney is very interesting as they both have a real stubborn streak about them - as elite athletes they really need that type of "single-mindedness" to achieve the heights they have. They are used to pushing themselves beyond normal levels. But Caroline is right, Sidney has got to back off any training, because pushing himself past the limit is only going to set his recovery back.

Alexa really has something up her sleeve - and she has the benefit of knowing more about both Caroline and Sidney than they do. And more than we do right now.
