I really do enjoy the setting behind your story. I feel like it's sort of a form of futuristic steampunk (if that makes sense), which is right up my alley. I'm a nerd for everything futuristic, and a nerd for everything steampunk!
On another note, you write very well. It's smooth, and it does a great job of keeping the reader's attention (well, it kept my attention for sure).
