Thanks for commenting, been so busy with work and things going on in my personal life. This story is on the back burner right now but I do want to finish it but not a lot of motivation, to be quite honest. But I will try to update as soon as I can, thanks for reading!

Thanks for the update of Sid's POV. It is interesting to see his insecurities - how he is wondering how he is going to juggle everything - and be the father his daughter deserves. He is so used to only thinking about himself - and everything relating to his hockey career.

But now he has a new career - DAD! He has great resourses (Mario, Duper) and lots of support from his family, but I think if he just remembers how much he loves his little girl, everything will work itself out.

Sid also has to realize that he needs to be there for Janelle, as she does not have all the resourses he does. I am hoping he is already seeing that.

I hope you had a good holiday - I know it probably wasnt easy, but I hope you found comfort in family and friends.

I'm afraid that I was a big meanie and wouldn't let anyone visit until the next day; I wouldn't even consider it. That day was for my husband and me with our new babe. And man, oh man, I would have _skinned_ anyone who came in when I was trying to get a baby to latch, much less the only wearing a sheet, much less un-showered. A good meal and a shower did much to restore the vestiges of civilization that I lost during and immediately after labor and delivery since it's a very primal experience.

So feed her up, Sid, and get her some privacy and a shower! The grands are not owed anything and they will have plenty of time to get to know their grand baby! Don't make this harder on Janelle than you need to!

I am so glad that Janelle is feeling good about everything - she deserves some happiness after everything she has gone through. Trina and Troy seem to be thrilled with their new granddaughter, and have welcomed Janelle into their fold.

Ryanna has given Janelle the gift of "family", as unconventional as it is. But isnt that the Modern Family...anything goes as long as there is love!! And it appears that there is a lot of love in that room.And I dont think there is a more fitting message this time of year.

Just want to say Merry Christmas (to those who celebrate) and all the best of the season (to everyone else) and here's hoping that we will see hockey in 2013!

Wow, over here you're made to stay on delivery for a significant period of time before your allowed onto post natal wards. My last baby I had @6:30pm, didn't get onto post natal ward till midnight then we didn't any visitors till mid morning the next day. Poor Janelle hasn't been given a break.

I can't wait to see where you take this next :)

As for the story, she had the baby at about 5 am and its now around 2 pm. When my goddaughter was born, I was visiting about an hour after the birth. Not sure if that's the norm since I've never had a baby. Thanks for reading and commenting!

Maybe they do things a little differently in labour wards in the uk to the us but how much time has passed from janelle having the baby to Sids parents coming to visit ? They haven't really given janelle a chance to bond with baby ryanna before bombarding her with visits. Then with the added pressure of trying to breast feed janelle will be feeling the pressure.

Trying to boobie feed is a nightmare and some babies just don't want to ever latch on.

Although with the presence of Sids family will be a good thing for janelle, they will need to give her some space. Her hormones will be crazy right now and the slightest thing will set her off.

They will also need to watch out for signs of post natal depression also.
