HOLY SHIT. I can certainly say that I did not see that one coming! Everyone was assuming car accident, but hey, that's so played out, right? How often do you see the kind of situation with the kids that was in this chapter? Like, never. But that's what I love about you, Lyndsey, you're just full of surprises!

I adored the shit out of the conversation between Lynds and Johnny. I love how he even says himself that he thinks Brian can be a total asshole sometimes. It's nice to see those two paired up as being the close ones in this story. You never really see/hear much from Johnny in stories, so I like that you've written him in this way.

I like how you insinuated some kind of car accident in the last update and then wrote something completely different. I did not expect this at all. I hope everyone will be okay, especially the boy who didn't seem to be doing too well.

yikes. I had a feeling that SOMETHING bad was going to happen. I can't help but think that this isn't the end, though. she and the girl are still on the ice and I don't have a good feeling about that.

about the USB - have you tried plugging it into another computer other than the one you use normally? if not, just try plugging it in at work or at a library or something. if it works, there's probably something wrong with your computer being able to read the USB, and if it doesn't, there's something wrong with the USB itself. unfortunately, I have no idea what you can do to fix a USB or get those files back. i'm sorry though, that really sucks. :/

I totally had some preconceived notions about how this next update was going to play out and it was wrong. This was a great update overall. Johnny is really sweet for talking things out with her. Heroic even for helping her with the kids. I just hope that things don't go from bad to worse.

Hopefully your USB will be okay. My old USB did the same thing once. Somehow it got bent while still connected to my laptop and it wouldn't work. I had to take it apart and use a pair of tweezers to hold it together to get my computer to recognize it long enough to take everything off so I could put it on a new one.

Awww sadface about your USB!! If I had any idea on how to make it work I would let you know but I don't :( you know me and technology!! We don't get on at the best of times!!

I love this story. I can see how Brian feels about wanting to stay home and not deal with his friends. But he didn't have to be a total assholeish creeper about it. Though despite his creepiness at the cabin at least he was concerned about her taking Johnny to get some cigarettes. I can't wait for more of this story.

I'm loving this so far, and damn Brian is bipolar as hell. I'm kinda wondering what, or who, was making him so adamant about staying in Huntington.

Okay, so I definitely wasn't expecting them to go on the trip! I figured the new chapter was going to be Brian pouting at home. I wonder what happened to make him change his mind? Aw, and Lyndsey sounds so sad, the way she was staring at herself in the mirror.

OMG. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Not enough people know that movie, outside of the fact that the video for Bat Country was inspired by it, so it's nice to see it mentioned in this chapter.

Ugh. Brian staring at her is creeping me out. I can almost FEEL his eyes. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH HIM.

Lol at Johnny's little tantrum. And the comment about the cowboy cigarettes made me laugh.

And, personally, I didn't mind Brian telling Lyndsey not to go. To me it showed that he was worried about her driving in dangerous conditions, thinking she would get hurt. But I guess in her state of mind she probably wasn't thinking that way.

BTW. Big Bear looks amazing. I actually googled it just to see what it was like and it looks so, so cool.
