I saw the update, but had to go to dinner, so I literally let the excitement of reading this brew and fester and then when I finally do (and I'm already worked up, mind you) I read this fucking masterpiece of a chapter and I can't take it.

Yeah, I'm actually literally posting a new Billie fic in like two seconds. I just finished the intro chapter. I have no idea how it's going to turn out. My writing is a little rusty. And, I have a bad habit of either never finishing my fics or rushing chapters to end them.

Wow, could not have said it better myself. Seriously. I thought I was the only one who felt like that. Well, at least we're in the same boat! (Even though that boat might be sinking.) I'm glad I could at least provide a little form of comfort for you with this story! ((I want to start another Billie story after this one. :x))

And, before I found your fanfic and two others, I was about to have a conniption fit because I thought noone was writing them anymore, or at least not writing them WELL anyway...It just made me feel sick at my stomach and claustrophobic all at the same time, almost like the air had been knocked out of me. I used to write TONS of them, not that I was really any good at writing, but it just gave my imagination a way to roam free without anyone judging me because noone on here knows who I am. I still have the last fic I wrote and bits of its sequel if you want to check it out, but honestly it's not very good. I wrote it when I was around fifteen, and then deleted it, but one of my readers had saved the chapters to their own files and asked me to repost it...

It makes my heart hurt, yes. I miss how popular their fanfics used to be after the release of American Idiot. When I was in junior high, Green Day, My Chemical Romance, The Used, Panic! At the Disco, and Avenged Sevenfold were pretty much the only fanfics you'd find on here. Now, Green Day fics are rare. I'm so happy I even found this one.

I feel the exact same way. I'm on here constantly, just praying that someone will have updated lol I'm just a tad obsessed. I've been reading stuff on here since the AI days as well.

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking, too. But it still kind of sucks. I guess I just get nostalgic for those days when everything was Green Day, Green Day, Green Day. I just want new fan fiction to read that I don't have to search back all the way to 2008 for. Haha. But I guess that's not such a bad thing, since I would still have something to read. I just hope that Green Day fan fiction and the Green Day community is always a thing, because without it, I would definitely be half a person. Thanks for responding, by the way! It makes me feel not so crazy to know someone thinks about the same thing!

I think the main reason that GD fanfics arent as popular as they were is just because the band isnt as much of a smashing-in-your-face-success at the moment like they were with AI and 21CB. While the last 3 albums were ah-ma-zing, they're not rocketing off shelves or getting the radio time the other albums did. That being said, I don't know that the younger crowd of tweens and teens are still as obsessed with the band as those of us on here who read any fanfic we can get our hands on lol

Not to say that the band is losing popularity or anything, but not being able to truly promote the trilogy properly put a dampener on things. When AI and 21CB came out, EVERYONE knew that is was a GD album, and that it had several singles, and was wildly popular. The trilogy just isn't getting that kind of success rate.

I'm a little confused and frazzled, but in the good way!

And I totally know what you mean about Green Day fan fiction. I just started writing, and it makes me sad that people don't pay as much attention to it.

It doesn't matter that they're older, because you can always write them younger if you so choose to, y'know?

I personally like both past and present, as Billie is an EXTREMELY sexy 41-year-old man.

He's the only guy that's gray hair could actually turn me on, ahaa.

Do you guys ever get sad that Green Day related fan fiction isn't as popular as it used to be? Sometimes I feel like a goof to keep writing it, but I really do enjoy it. I always have. I'm just afraid that no one is really into it anymore and I'm scared eventually it will just die off. :( Although I am aware that the guys are getting older, but I don't know. I just love writing about old school Green Day so much and I hope that there will always be a place for it. I'm kind of rambling and not getting to a really good point. I just want to know your opinion about it and all, if you would be so kind. :)

And on a related note, I want to thank all of you who read this, leave comments, recommend it, and subscribe. It means so much to me! It really does, because you guys are awesome. And I am trying to update more often since you guys would like me to. :) You are the motivation!

Aw, your whole comment made me smile! I am so glad that you are enjoying this and also enjoyed Best Thing In Town! It means so much because sometimes I feel as if I'm writing for no one, even though that's okay too because I enjoy doing it. But anyway! Yes, doesn't Billie look fantastic in that photo? I absolutely love it. We have good taste. ;)
I hope to be updating soon! I hate that the updates are sometimes months apart, but... It's just the way I am sometimes. :(
