Gosh, this is heartbreaking. I know what it's like to have to listen to constant arguments between parents but thankfully mines always manage to work things out in the end. The fact that this poor little boy is subjected to it constantly (no matter how much they try to shelter him from it) and then has to go through the court cases and custody battles is absolutely horrible to even have to think about, never mind experience. I've panicked about my parents separating before and considered running away, so I can't possibly imagine how he must feel having to go through it.

It almost seems like he's a prize to the mother, though. Almost as if she's trying to take everything from the father and I think that's quite cruel, especially seeing as the boy wants so desperately to live with his father. The little plan that he concocts is again, absolutely heartbreaking, because the minute I started reading about it I knew that it wasn't going to work. A twelve-year-old boy on his own? Someone will ask questions.

My favourite part of this was the last line. It's just so blunt and horrible. I don't like stories that constantly have happy endings either and the fact that you just know that he'll have to go back to deal with court cases again is just so saddening.

All in all? Definitely impressed. I'm amazed that no one else has commented on this yet!
