I'm here as a judge for the Book Fanfiction contest.

I'm not at all familiar with Phantom of the Opera, but even so I enjoyed this story. You could really feel how Christine was struggling with how she felt about the Phantom. I feel like that shows a realness of the character to have those flaws and really struggle with them. It's very relatable even though the things in this story aren't really the types of things that would happen to a 'normal' person. It made me feel like I could possibly be in Christine's position even though I know I never would.

I really enjoyed your descriptions throughout this piece. They added just the right amount of detail without being overwhelming to read and gave a lot of insight to Christine's emotions. Even though it was mostly focused on Christine, you also showed some bits of how the Phantom was feeling and it really helped round everything out.

Overall, I thought this was well-written and interesting to read. Thanks for entering!

I absolutely love the Phantom of the Opera, and with your summary and the layout, I think you've really captured the essence of Christine.

I think you did a really great job of conveying the sort of torn infatuation Christine has with the Phantom. Even though I know how the story goes, you really played on what could've very easily been. There was such an allure about the Phantom, and your descriptions describe it perfectly. Christine is flawed in that way only humans are, and I really like that. You've given the characters a bit of your own spin, but keep them so familiar too. I absolutely love it. You make me hate Christine, but understand and support her too.

This was such an interesting piece, and a real twist on the original story. You should be very proud of this.

    Good luck in the contest!

I too saw some error's but they were fairly easy for me to look past. This story however isn't my style but I still ready it through, I have never been a fan of Phantom of the opera, Never read the book, never seen the play or the movie. I will say I loved the narration on this favorite part. I love stories that are narrated perfectly and this one is near perfect in Narration.

I saw very few grammatical errors in this piece. It’s really deep and emotional. The narration shows clearly Christine’s desires and inner thoughts. In the piece, you depicted perfectly the inner battle between Christine’s love and hate for Erick.

I especially loved this line: I knew he loved me with a love which could surpass even death if it was possible. It really spoke to me, you know. It stood out from the rest because in this line, I could clearly see and recognize his love for her. Furthermore, the piece flowed nicely since I saw no choppy sentences.

This is my first time reading a Phantom of the Opera fanfic but I’m happy that the first one I read was this amazing piece. It’s truly a great work and I enjoyed reading this very much. And if I read this with sad music, I'll probably cry.

I'm not a massive Phantom fan, so I don't know much about it at all. Apologies if I don't understand some parts due to that!

I really enjoyed the first paragraph where you describe his voice. It tells a lot when you spend practically an entire paragraph just describing it alone, so I think that's a really nice touch. I've never heard anyone describe a voice as opium before either, so that was really interesting and unique! Like someone already said, your descriptions are really eloquent and lovely, really nice to read. I also love how you have Christine enveloped in this internal struggle as to whether she loves Erik or not. It makes her seem all the more human, because she has that shallow side that is affected by his appearance, but you also have this side of her that seems to love him irrevocably. It's really nice to read a character as torn as Christine.

I'll be announcing the winners shortly, so good luck! Cute

I am not well versed in the fandom, so apologies if I get anything wrong.

This was so interesting. Your descriptions were great and I loved that I could imagine everything in my mind as I was reading this. I have noticed in the stories I gave commented on so far you have a great attention to detail which I love. You can see in the story how much she loves him and then sort of doesn't? But when she ripped off his mark, it totally tugged on my heartstrings. This was brilliantly written and there were no obvious spelling/grammar mistakes, but I did wish I could read this like an original fiction rather than reading it as a fan fiction and being a bit confused by the whole premise of Phantom of the Opera. Otherwise, I thought it was great!

Despite not knowing much about the Phantom of the Opera, I enjoyed reading this! You can just tell that she loves so much, but at the same time she's trying to fight her feelings because she knows what it could lead to. He's intriguing and mysterious to her, and that is dangerous in and of herself. I like that she's been dreaming of him basically her whole life, since her father passed away. She got that hole in her heart and it just filled with him, even though she hadn't planned on it and it was the last thing that she expected to happen. I abolsutely love the ambiguous ending too, with them dropping off into the darkness. We’ll never really know what became of them! This was amazing Cute

She doesn't know whether or not to love him or not. She loves him but she doesn't and yet she doesn't yet she wants to, but doesn't want to... I think one of your favorite angles to a story is, to love or not to love. Anyway this is very good, the way you write never ceases to surprise me and take me away with what you are saying, describing, explaining. Well done
