"That's the best thing a girl can hope to be in this world, a beautiful little fool."

Gosh, I just love this! It's so simple and yet it sends such a large amount of knowledge and emotion. I loved Daisy's character in the movie, so this really makes me think, you know? Ace job x

First off, the layout is gorgeous and it fits perfectly with the story. I have a bit of a soft spot for Daisy Buchanan and this was quite the lovely little drabble about her. I have to applaud you on writing a small drabble with so much description and emotion. I love, absolutely love when a drabble can pack a punch and yours did just that.

I know The Great Gatsby does go into Daisy's life a bit, but it doesn't go straight into it and I like how you gave us a look into Daisy's mind. There's more than what meets the eye with Daisy and I like that you decided to write about that.

Wonderful job with this story. It was a great read. :)

I loved this, I am a huge fan of The great Gatsby even though I haven’t seen the film yet.
“safe and warm and happy“ I love how this list makes it feel as though her happiness will go on forever. Like nothing can take away that happiness. It counteracts with what is really going on in her life but stays with the idea that a girl should be a beautiful fool.
“she is safe with Tom“ This makes it seem like he is the reason she is safe, he is the reason she is so happy. Once again this counteracts with the truth that he doesn’t make her happy but he is from old money which made him safe to marry.
I like how cute the activities they do together are. “grounding themselves in the present” this seems like Daisy’s coping mechanism though. If she can forget what’s happening when he is away from her then everything will be ok for the two of them.
“Every inch of Daisy Fay is cold and sick and hateful” This show’s a drastic change from the beginning. It also sounds as if she is blaming her self for feeling this way. All the hate that she feels, the ways its listed, is very powerful. Like if it isn’t all said at once she will never be able to get the hate to leave her.
“Daisy, just plain Daisy” This goes against how I interpreted Nick’s description of her. It made me think of the character in a completely different way.
“as much a fool as her daughter.” I think this adds another emotional layer to the story. It shows jealousy. She envies her daughter, who is not only a fool but she also has the rest of her life ahead of her, unlike Daisy who has already passed the peak of her life.
“a girl can hope to be.” This takes away the element of choice. Daisy will never be a fool because however she would choose to. However you get the impression that her daughter will be a fool even though she has no choice.

This was completely amazing. And it doesn't help that it is inspired by The Great Gatsby either. After watching the movie, I fell in love with Daisy's character again since I haven't read the book in a few years. From watching the movie, I realized how miserable she really was with her life, and I really believe that this drabble portrays her miserableness as well.

I really adored this drabble, and greatly enjoyed reading it. This is probably the first Great Gatsby story that I have read, and, it seems, one of the only one that is on this site. Beautiful work.
