Is she going back to her grandparents? This will be the second time he chases her there. I hope everything works out. And down the line, I hope James finds true happiness and they can be friends. I hope James completely accepts everything and understands that it's for the best. Can't wait for the next update!

Ok wow, there's a lot there. First if all, I do think that James is trying but for him to assume she'd want to try for him or have him touch her is WAY out of line. You're a cheater and you still went home with someone days before... dumbass. Also the underwear and on their bed!? That's foul. You can't even change the sheets and clean up, you have to have her do it ?! She didn't come back to him by choice so he also needs to get that clear. And again I get what Paul is going but dude you know she's miserable. Why can't he just call or text or something to meet up? JeeZ

I loved that you brought up the whiskey and tea! It goes to show that he still loves her and that's the moment he fell in love with her. James is a moron and doesn't deserve her at all. Not even for a day let alone a week. I hope both Clare and Paul come to their senses before he leaves for his other team. They belong together like chicken on a hibachi grill haha

He was drinking in her apartment because he missed her and felt like shit :( She knew. That had to be the moment she knew. I hope she tells James that she loves Paul and that what they had is over! Can't wait to see what happens next!

I still don't think James deserves another chance with Clare. It feels like he's had enough time to make things right and there's not much more he could do. Paul and Clare should be together and I have a feeling James was more interested in Clare and making things right when she moved on to Paul.
You just do such a great job at writing so you reveal just the right amount in a chapter but also create suspense for the next one.

I think the whiskey and tea was a reference to when he took care of her when she was sick? But I'm not sure of the significance exactly... I'm really amazed by the twists and turns you're able to put into your stories. But gah I just want Paul and Clare to get their happily ever after already. Which they better. If Paul gets his heart broken I'll never forgive you. D<

EARTH TO PEOPLE!! Paul wasn't doing this to be selfish he was being completely selfless and he needs to just tell her. Shit. He has her cell phone number! This is the point of your story where I get frustrated and don't know what to do but rip my hair out and wait for an update :/ love this though and you have a way of teasing out the good in the stories.

Gut wrenching!!

I am Team Paul even after he dropped Clare off at James' door. Why would Paul go to SC and bring Clare back just to give her to James? Maybe Paul figures James will eventually fuck it up by cheating on Clare AGAIN.

James is a tool for leaving with that girl in front of Clare. I can understand Clare's reaction. It was probably like seeing all of his infidelities when they were married in 3D.

If I was Clare I would dump both of them and focus on me.

Just got caught up on this and OMG. Truly the only phrase I can use to describe my emotions right now. I'm a little made at all three of them right now to be honest, Clare least of all and Paul the most. I think James is an absolute sleezeball still and after taking the girl home from the bar in front of Clare and then expecting still for another chance. But I expect that behavior from him, Now Clare, who I love to death, but God, if I were her getting out of that car after being dumped and essentially humiliated by the man she loves as he tries to push her back on the man she used to love (who also broke her heart) the pair would have gotten a howdy "fuck you!" from me as I slammed the car door and started walking down the street instead. But knowing Clare, I can understand a little why she would go to James in the house, although I hate that she agreed to give her and James a chance, no matter how much she didn't mean it. AND AS FOR PAUL who I now loathe entirely! How dare he be so selfish as to see everything Clare went through, everything James put her through, and promise all of those things just to take it all back. His motives are completely self centered, being unable to deal with the fact that she's still recovering from a broken heart and leaving her, not just alone, but with the first man that wronged her in every way. Gosh, I could go on forever about how much he is a complete ass for abandoning Clare, but let's just leave it at neither of these boys deserve this woman or anything she has to offer! Team single Clare!!!!

I didn't expect Paul to do that. However I can understand why he's doing it and honestly she does need to sort out where her and James stand. Then again I really don't think their marriage can really be sorted out after what James has done. I like Clare and Paul together and I really think James doesn't deserve Clare.

After reading this chapter I cried. It was so sad, sad that Paul loves her this much and is so unselfish that he is giving Clare back to James because he thinks it is what's best for her. Clare is doing it for Paul to show how much she loves him, not James. She's already had time to think for herself. She went to SC to not be a problem in both their lives. Although, I agree with @dogandbutterfly they are still married, however, what good is a marriage if one of you can't stay faithful? I really hope Paul and Clare get back together and start all over again.
