I am totally confused with this story, he's married to his middle school sweetheart, yet he's 32 and she's 24?? That's an 8 yr difference! How were they even in the same school?? Weird
It’s cute how he keeps offering to drive but she insists she’s fine. She doesn’t strike me as the type who would let a virtual stranger drive her car… I wouldn’t. Haha. No matter how sexy he was!
Brian almost put his hand on hers in empathy but he played it off as stretching
Hahaha! Smooth, Brian…
The story of her child hood was sad. I mean, I’m sure it’s hard enough to have your parents separate, but then to be separated from a sibling as well must be difficult. I can’t imagine having my family split in half like that, it would really suck.
The way her personality has turned out as a result of her upbringing is interesting. I can’t imagine being the type of girl who guys feel is too masculine to date… it must suck. I’m curious as to how “masculine” she really is, though. I mean, I wonder if she is really so domineering or if she is just opinionated and not the type of girl that bows down to a man.
Well she certainly put that hotel staff member right in his place, didn’t she? Not that he didn’t totally deserve it… maybe next time he’ll stop and think before opening his big, inappropriate mouth.
That sex came about quite randomly. Haha. Not in a bad way, he’s clearly been attracted to her since he first saw her, so it makes sense he’s decided to abruptly jump her bones. Haha. And obviously she felt the same, considering she didn’t smack him in the face for kissing her.
The sex scene itself was good, so don’t worry. I like scenes that aren’t too crass or drawn out, so I think you did really well :) Don’t stress!
Well, I’m glad you’ve decided to add a sequel to this story… it definitely feels as though it needs it. I mean, I like how he’s fallen for Emily, but he still has a hell of a lot of unfinished business in his life, none of which Emily has any clue of. So that’s going to be interesting. Haha. Plus they still need to get to know each other better, so I look forward to that too.
aww I kinda liked this three shot :) it was sweet! And I'm REALLY glad you're gonna continue it with a sequel :) yey! and the smut was just fine! don't worry about it :)
I find it funny that Brian didn’t think a little further ahead and bring some cash along with him on this mission to alter his lifestyle. Begging for money won’t get him far… even with those cheekbones and sweet brown eyes ;)
Man, did the he not learn from his previous mistake of judging that girl by her appearance? He’s doing it all over again… assuming she couldn’t be from California, based on her attire. Granted he may be correct, but since he was horribly wrong last time, he should still think twice before jumping to conclusions. Hahaha.
Bahahaha! Okay, apparently she’s the type of girl that swears like a drunken sailor on leave! I feel bad for that poor family she made take off running, but it was funny nonetheless. And for forty bucks, I think I’d take the challenge, too!
Based on the waiter’s description of this girl, she’s definitely one of those girls that don’t take shit from anyone. Brian might want to be careful with this one… he could get himself into a lot more trouble than he’s prepared for. Haha.
Well, apparently she’s a tough chick with a soft side. Nice of her to cover Brian’s bill… I stand by my original statement that there’s a lot more to her than meets the eye :)
This definitely looks to be an interesting trip for the both of them. Sweet of her to just want to take Brian as far away as he wants… kills time, sure… but she’s gutsy trusting this guy she doesn’t even know! Haha.
Really looking forward to seeing where this goes… it has a lot of potential for it to be maybe turned into something more than just a three part story…(hint hint)
This struck me as a really interesting story plot. To be honest, the beginning of the first chapter had me a little confused. I found myself having to read it over twice, just so I could follow his train of thought (to be fair, I have Family Guy playing in the background and it kept distracting me haha) but once I grasped what he meant by his use of mind over matter, I understood where he was coming from.
To me, it seems as though he’s having a bit of a mid-life crisis… just a little earlier than most guys. Haha. I can understand him feeling like he’s not really fulfilling his full potential, especially after a world shattering event like losing your best friend. I get why he’d see his current life as somewhat fruitless and a little shallow (maybe?) and want something better. It’s only natural, really.
I’m surprised at the way he conveyed his feelings to his wife and friends… I mean, I get it, he just snapped… but I can’t help but feel a little bad for them, since it’s very out of left field for them. Especially his wife… if they were middle-school sweethearts (which I kind of don’t get considering their age gap… I mean, would she have even been in middle school at the same time as him? Unless I interpreted it wrong) I would’ve thought he might have been a little gentler with his announcement that he wants a divorce. Again, I get that he just snapped, so I suppose that’s why he just blurted it all out and stormed out.
I love the girl already. She’s kind enough to bother to stop to offer a lift to a stranger… but is strong and smart enough to put Brian right in his place and leave him for dust after insinuating she was some immature slut with next to no life experience or morals. Clearly Brian needs to learn not to judge a book by its cover!
