Aw, this was really sweet. I loved that this was a story about a friendship between two people rather than an evolving friendship to a relationship or something along that nature. Your descriptions in the beginning were excellent and I could really picture everything that was happening while I was reading the story. Sadie is such a sweet best friend and I think anyone would be lucky to have her in her life. I liked the metaphor about birds not being able to fly without wind and it was a nice touch to add to the story. Good luck in the contest!
