I am so in love with this story! I've been waiting to get my hands on a laptop/computer for weeks just to comment! I was really surprised with the twist and I wasn't expecting Brian and Eloise to make a deal! But I see a happy ending of sorts :) Can't wait for the next update!
Poor Eloise. I definitely gagged when the doctor was describing her injury. Yuck.
Also, I hope that she ends up finding strength from this: Eloise, the princess who got attacked by a shark and survived. But I know it won't be that easy. I can't even imagine.
I'm also interested to see how the press and family is going to take the publicity of Eloise and Brian's relationship.
I feel so bad for Eloise. I can't imagine going through something like that. I was surprised that it caused her to accept Brian's proposal but I can see real feelings developing on both sides.
Brian kind of surprised me when he tried to get Eloise to wait about making any big decisions Maybe he cares about her more than he would ever admit Love how Eloise got that break to be a regular person with her family even if it wasn't a long period of time Wonder what the reactions are going to be when Eloise and Brian "come out" as a couple
I really liked how you wrote this chapter. At first glance, it looks like a filler chapter, where not much goes on, but then we get a chance to glimpse at Eloise’s personality! First, comes the princess listening to the doctor’s explanations and then professionally giving directions to her assistant, clearly thinking of the social repercussions of her accident... Then, Brian enters the room and we can see the woman trying to come to the surface. But, ofc, she can’t show weakness in front of him, so she desperately tries to bury her emotions and treat their agreement as business. It’s also very interesting, how she brings up the cheating, as if it’s inevitable. It shows how vulnerable and destroyed she feels. It’s also interesting to see how Brian reacts. First, he doesn’t want her to make decisions in the heat of the moment. He probably thinks she’ll regret it later on. And then, he stutters when she mentions cheating... Wasn’t he considering the possibility? And I wonder what he thought, when she mentioned Cardona... And finally, it’s wonderful that you ended the chapter with family time, and the opportunity to let her be a woman (and not the princess) and break down, drawing comfort from her brother’s embrace and her family’s presence. Looking forward to the next chapter
God... I just don't know what to write... I'm happy that her leg is still in one piece, but that's just cruel... She is going to be stalk by paps wanting pics of her scars...
OK. So I didn't realize how far behind I was on this story! Goodness, I'm slacking.
1. Oh snap, they kissed. Duh, that was bound to happen whether they wanted it to or not. 2. And getting that necklace for her? Awesome. 3. Charlotte is being totes obnoxious. 4. HOLY MOLY SHARK ATTACK. Like... what? That totally came out of nowhere!
I can't wait to see what happens next because of that! Poor El :(
It's about time her and Brian were honest with each other about the whole situation, I can't wait to see where that takes them now. I hope the shark didn't do too terrible damage to her leg!
@ llizzie'cullen Oooh, that's been on the cards ever since I created Effy - it'll definitely happen!
@ Ca20000 I'll probably end up upping the updates to two a week soon! I just want to see how I handle the weekly deadline first. Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you're enjoying!
@ arwen undomiel you're welcome As I said, it was just a detail... And this chapter was great, I totally didn't see it coming! I'm glad you decided to get her closer to Kate, I think it makes sense. And, if I can voice a wish (I'll voice it, even if I can't ), I think it'd be cool for El to meet Effie, maybe later on though... I'm glad the comment made you grin.
@ llizzie'cullen Crap, I didn't notice - that chapter was the first one I wrote when I started this story, I had to go back in and edit some stuff to make it fit with all of the previous chapters (I hadn't originally planned on her getting close to Kate, which is why the chapter lacks her a bit). I didn't notice that, though. Thank you for pointing it out to me! I'll go fix it now.
Thank you so much for commenting, though! I'm glad I got you hooked :D this review made me grin so much.
So, I started reading this fic yesterday and got hooked! So hooked, in fact, that I had to go read the companion piece I have some difficulty in commenting fics, especially when I read all the chapters in a few hours, but after catching up, I try to comment as much as I can. So, about this chapter: first, I looooooved El losing it and screaming at Charlotte. I just wish we could see Kate’s reaction to it… It must’ve been hilarious! Second: she actually went and called him Gates?? She clearly wasn’t thinking! But, hey, at least now everything is clear and they may come to an agreement… Now, talk about a plot twist! A shark?! Poor El, I hope they don’t have to amputate her leg, although, she won’t have the greatest legs of Britain for a while. (Plastic surgery can hide the scars, though) Do I sense some kind of bonding with Brian over this tragedy??? On a different note, I have to point out a detail. When El and Kate come from the room, you mention Brian changed his clothes too and is now wearing swimming trunks. A little afterwards, you write “he sat at the edge of the deck, jeans rolled up and legs in the water". (I hope you don’t mind me pointing that out, I just thought you missed it and might like to know…) So, yeah, overall great story, I can’t wait for the next update. wow, this is big
