The first chapter, though short, is such a great one. It pulls me in immediately and has me clicking the next chapter link faster than my computer will load.
The second chapter is equally intense and I have so many questions. Why is there blood? What happened? Why isn't the main character screaming? Why would she run if she were innocent? I sense a bit of guilt in the narrative. It's easy to relate as you make it clear what your main character is thinking as she tries to figure out what the hell she's going to do. It's so dark and twisty already!
I like how easily this story moves back and forth from the night of the murder and the trial. It's clear she's terrified that they might find her guilty for something she might not have done which would make anyone nervous. I think it's pretty cool that you can have so little description and yet, it's like I'm write there with her.
The fourth chapter has a lot happening even though it seemed like it might have been the shortest chapter so far. Who is this mystery guy? Why's he not freaking out about the blood. Gah! There's just all these questions and I feel like this story is so fast paced. I find myself racing to get to the next chapter.
I feel like this fifth chapter showed a very real side to a lawyer-client relationship. He has a case to win so of course, he would be just as harsh as the accusing lawyer (I don't know what their called? Public Defender maybe). I want to know why she can't remember. What's jogging that vital piece of information and will she ever regain it?
This story is truly a dark and twisty masterpiece. Can't wait for more!
Whoa. I mean, dude, this is amazing. You've painted an incredibly rich and dark setting by word choice and description here; no wonder it's a candidate for the Leave a Comment, Take a Comment thing. I absolutely love the shortness of each chapter, since they're lovely (in a dark, bloody way haha) and bite-sized, enjoyable and easy to read if you don't have a lot of time. Some people need a lot more to tell a solid story, but you don't. Reading this, I got the feel of a hazy, bloody, fidgety atmosphere. Jodi is so realistic, and her fear is nearly tangible, like something you can almost feel. Fantastic work.
