I want to throttle Max...is that the reaction you're looking for? haha. I think this story, at least from Lauren's standpoint, is a person's worst nightmare. You put yourself out there, and regardless of whether you were raised with Princess mentality or not, you think maybe you've found your prince charming only to be torn down when you discover it was all a lie. Also, having met quite a few Maxes on my own adventures, it's easy to morph from Isolophobia to Pistanthrophobia (the fear of trusting others). It is a great story, though, because you get to see both sides.
