  • I just started reading this story and I'm in love with it! I can't wait for you to update. You're a great writer :) I also love your little "random facts" that you put in your authors notes at the end of most chapters. I can not wait to see what happens next!

  • Underwater:
I feel very sorry for Nora in this chapter and I believe it stems when they arrive at the farm and no one is there to greet her. They're all so intertwined with each other, and Nora had distanced herself so well that she didn't quite bond with anyone. I feel like she is just wondering why she bothered coming back. And when she is edging towards the Grimes family, it only confirms my thoughts that Rick is like her new family. It's sad that they don't reciprocate it. Of course, Kit even gets some loving.

I've been waiting to see what happens when Daryl and Nora see each other again, and it is surprisingly calm. With Daryl, it seems he always has a snarky remark to say to Nora that I figured he would throw one out about her return. I'm glad that it is awkward, because it seems a more realistic scenario than the two of them slow motion running in the sunset. Their reunion is exactly how I would think it would be. Daryl's not big on showing caring emotion so it would make no sense for him to take Nora into his arms and kiss her like there was no tomorrow.

It's surprising when he calmly indicated for her to follow him. Such a calm and seemingly innocent gesture. It makes you wonder what kind of a conversation he has set out in his mind.

Once again, you are creating a life for someone other than Nora. It definitely makes your story more interesting, and different to other WD stories that I've read. You are showing her past, but not just her alone. You have another family. Randall's family. And you've put in little quirks that make us believe her, and let us see a part of Randall that we never see in the series.

Googly eyes. High pitched giggle. Gospel preaching mother. Even when you note that their home life wasn't too great. These are simple things that make the characters 3D.

'Getting shrieked at by your friend’s Jesus loving mother was kind of funny.' This is so funny!

It's all very interesting, and I like that you're delving a little into Nora's past!

  • I've been slacking off again coz we got a new system at work -.- It's so stupidly more time consuming than the last system. Fools.

    Laugh:
I don't know why, but when you mentioned Herschel and Rick murmuring in the front seat, I couldn't help but feel as the Nora were a child in the back seat, and more than that. I feel like Rick is now her family. Strange, haha!

Typical Asian. - Statement of the year.

I loved this particular line and the description you've used. It's so beautiful and I want to steal it! I normally use the 'stars dotted the inky veil'... but freckles is so adorable! Freckles of stars were scattered across the inky sky. Musky clouds drifting here and there below them.

I'd almost forgotten about Daryl's brother and I'm glad he wasn't the one to have to bring it up. That Glenn (someone I deem as a bit of a blabber mouth) told her, is quite funny. He seems to spill everything about everyone.

It makes me wonder what Randall is thinking when Nora and Glenn are talking. Does he recognise her voice the way she recognised his laugh? Is that why he is laughing? And does Herschel know him?

    So many questions!

BT DUBS: I love your random fact!

  • DYING!!
Curious to see how the rest of the group will react to Daryl caring about be or if he will try to hide it from them for awhile.
This update was awesome. I really enjoyed how you described Nora walking through the wet grass to Daryls tent. You described it so well I thought i was there myself.

I am very curious now though about what Nora did before the world went to shit. A few chapters ago you mentioned, when talking about Bentley, (referring to Nora) that "Even when I was back in town he never tried to get ahold of me". Makes me think he kind of left town for awhile. Is Nora around Maggies age?!

None the less, loved the chapter! You make it romantic without it being unrealistic and cheesy.

  • Buahaha! I love it! That was the perfect reaction. But I do hope you don't make Daryl overbearing like other authors.

  • Oh man oh man oh man. Is he really pissed? Our us here gonna kiss her too?

  • Goat milk? Ugh. Very interested to find out what conversation happens in Daryl's tent, as well as more about Bentley and Nora's relationship.

  • My brain is melting. (in a good way of course). Very curious to find out more about Bentley and Nora's friendship and just more about Bentley in general. You may have mentioned this before but how is Nora supposed to be? I always assumed Maggies age, if not a little younger.
Ultimately I believe she will stand with Dale on the matter of what to do with Randall. I don't think Nora has the heart to just sit back and watch someone she knows personally get killed.

To be honest I'm not sure what type of relationship Daryl and Nora would have. I could imagine Daryl eventually taking her hunting with him and on runs and stuff. I feel like they would be really good friends and that would grow into something more. Daryl would feel really awkward around her because he would start to have these feelings towards her that he wouldnt know how to deal with!
    Great update, as always!

  • Indebted:
I was very surprised to see that it was Herschel who was in the car, though now that I remember, I recall the little trip Herschel made to the town. Of course, this recollection was brought up with your description of alcohol lingering on his breath. Very clever, indeed!

I am not surprised in the least that the first thing Rick asks, is if she is bit. It seems that particular line is forever engraved in my memory because he says it so often in the show! Very glad you have shown Rick's personality so well!

They weren’t coming for me at all, probably didn’t even really seem bothered I was gone.

Now this is the funny bit. We all know that Nora's intention all along was to leave the group. She was determined in someway, but it was always expected that she would change her mind the longer she stayed with them. She left anyway. But this line shows that she cares. She wanted the group to notice her absence. Possibly even wanted them to come looking for her. Perhaps she thought that Daryl might have had a determined search for her the way he searched for Sofia. It's clear that she was disappointed they hadn't come looking for her. And that the reason for their presence is a mystery to her.

I did notice one thing :) The start of the chapter begins with her lying on the road, and sunlight on her skin. I am assuming it is sunset, because then it changes to night later on.

Also I totally forgot they brought a kid back with them! It makes for an interesting collection of chapters to come!

I had wondered how it was that Nora would end up back with the group. Whether she returned on her own free will. Maybe Daryl went after her. I never imagined that Herschel would be the one to convince her and I love that you surprised us in such a way. It proves that this story is not the typical expectation. You find a way to make your story unique.

    February 4th, 2014 at 05:13am
  • Aghhhhh!!! There are soo many ways she could know him. I remember a while back one of the random facts was that Nora had only 2 friends. My theory is that Randall is one of those friends or possibly an ex boyfriend of some sort? For a second I thought it could possibly be HER brother but there was never any mention of her having siblings. The suspense is killing me on this one! Can't wait for the next update!
