I’m here to judge for the ‘A Song Contest on the Songs Often Left Behind’ contest.

I usually don’t comment on layouts because my opinion is clearly subjective, but your layout is extremely harsh on the eyes what with the neon green background and bright pink font. I definitely know that I wouldn’t be the only one that says that either. The color combination is pretty unforgiving. It’s really off-putting as a first impression because I hate using the default layout but I had to.

As for the content, I actually really appreciated the simplicity of this one-shot. It was pleasant, very lowkey, without being boring because you balanced the interview well with the characters’ personalities. I think your opening sentence was actually a good hooking point; it was easy to immediately connect personally with the narrator because I also don’t listen to one specific genre, it all depends on my mood. I actually loved the dynamic with the characters on a whole, not even just Parker. Although it was a band interview and mostly dialogue, I still had a good solid grasp on the characters’ personalities and relationships with each other. Everything was really down to earth, avoiding that cliché and stereotypical ‘rockstar’ persona. It made it really easy for me to connect with each other characters and enjoy such a simplistic piece. I never thought I’d actually enjoy reading a fictional interview!

I also liked how you fit the song from the contest into the piece. It made it personal because this was the song, the duet, which started the band’s career and fame so it was a really nice tie-in. Great job!

I don't think you know how greatful I am that you didn't do a love story with that. Not that I don't love them, but you, I can deal without them. This is really something I enjoy, and even though I was really wondering where this was going at first, I absolutly loved it. Also, I love how it's just the exact number of words for the idea.

    Good job, this was beautiful.
