  • i'm really really sorry about your loss :( any kind of death is difficult. living with her is going to be hard on you, but just let her know you're there and she has your support.

i can't believe you lost subscribers -- this story was and still is amazing. you leave the right amount of cliff-hanger, just enough to keep us wanting more, and i can't wait to read more whenever you CAN update! sorry i haven't commented in a while -- haven't been a fan of the site lately, but i'm going to continue to comment :)

  • @ Haylie Jaed
I don't usually reply to comments in this thread, but I'm too lazy to go to your page right now... I just want to say thank you. And I think you did say the 'sorry for your loss' on the blog I posted about it, but still thank you for saying it. Also your questions, I have to tease you a bit about those, you are (for once) completely off base. And that is going to bug you until the end of the story since the question is answered in my head, I just have to get from here to there.

Keep reading, it gets better :).

  • You lost two subscribers? They're missing out on something amazing.

This chapter presented more questions than answers, and now I'm sitting here groaning because I need to know. In all my writings and my studying angels for my own works, I can't think of anything that could permit Lane to see Azrael. Is she nephilim? But then that would raise parentage into question. I would say clairvoyant, but then wouldn't more humans be able to see him?

    Much confused, I am.

I loved this chapter, as I always do. =) Can't wait for more!

And I think I might have said it last time, but I'm sorry for your loss. <3 I know it's a stupid thing to say, but I know how hard it is, and I'm here for you.

  • This is an amazing! The summary sets up a dark and very interesting setting and I’m already curious how this plays out and comes to be, especially after the first chapter with Azrael’s introduction. It’s so intense and suspenseful, and very different from any stories I’ve read about Death. In the later chapters with Lane, I got really concerned for her and very emotional when it turned out the way it did. The writing is really well done and alongside Lane’s emotions and character, its very breath taking and builds up a lot of suspense (and that last chapter omg).

This is a very good story and incredibly well written.

  • I love the way you've written this, describing everything using the imagery rather than an inordinate amount of dialogue. It makes sense to me that he would be a man--or angel--of very few words. Each death devastated me, but Chandler's had to be the hardest to get through. I kinda saw it coming; however, I debated between it being him or her dad (in an alcohol-related accident). It was great for her to summon him instead of him just showing up, being fascinated with her because she's mortal or whatever, as I have read in other stories about angels/demons/spirits/etc. I can't wait to see what happens next! I want answers as much as she does now! XD

  • I came into this story not knowing what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised!! This is so dark and beautiful and super well-written, which is always good. Azrael reminds me of Castiel from Supernatural, only 'cause they both wear trench coats, haha. Maybe it's an angel thing. Anyways, so this was super intriguing and definitely worth the read! Loved it :)

  • It's a really beautiful story. Well written and dark. I love the plot, it's hard to turn away. Beautiful.

  • Hermagerrrdddd! (Forgive me for saying that) But seriously! I love this so much! I don't know how you accidentally stumbled upon my blog after writing a story about one of my strangely deepest fascinations and interests. Specifically being the Book of Revelation and my all time favorite angel, a one Mr. Azrael. (I used to have a cat named Azrael too. And I also have a story with an Azrael, but my angel/demon mytho is much much different. And my Azrael is a woman, at least in her physical/earthly manifestation. But still a total babe).

But seriously, I am so in love with this story. You got me hooked! I love the way it's written and how he changes appearance every time she sees him. I love how she describes his eyes being like storms and lightning and the way he sort of glides everywhere and picks and chooses which sentences he wants to say with his mouth. I just love everything about this because I love the angel mythology so much and specifically Azrael, as we discussed. And I also subscribed. And I promise I was going to egg your house with a much more professional comment, but then I just got really excited, and I also haven't slept in a long time and it's almost 2 in the morning. Oops. But anyway! I love it and I can't wait to read more. :D

  • This is really well written, and even from the first chapter you can tell that you're very good at telling a story using imagery rather than just words,

  • I like this a lot. Just started reading, and the comment below me kinda gave something away. But I guess that can't be helped. I've recommended and subscribed.

  • That was amazing!! I loved the detail you put into her magic! And it's such a clever thing to do, to have her summon him! Can't wait to see what happens next!

  • Short, but interesting. The addition of the summoning spell was something I liked, but now I'm wondering what's happening. =O

Short comment, I'm sorry. I have a splitting headache at the moment. But I still loved the chapter, and I can't wait for more!

  • 'Da Vinci must've painted him once, though no one knew it because his face wasn't easily recongisable, never noticed, never seen.
That is one of the most beautiful lines of literature I've read in a long time. And I've read a lot of literature over my seventeen and a bit years. That final sentence, even the chunk of text, is so intriguing- you wonder whether she's dead, or whether she's talking to an actual person in the middle of nowhere- GAH. Why are you so good at writing- please tell me all of your secrets!
    Fantastic so far!

  • This story is so...human. All of the flaws and failures are so exemplified and the range of emotions you present is truly mind-blowing. The backstory that is coming into play is a very important element; I can't wait to see what you do with it, because I really enjoy how you've started it. I think maybe an omnipotent third person would've worked better for this story, but what you've done is good and should be appreciated. Keep it up!

  • I loved this chapter!! I like that Lane's got a bit of anger in her! - Although her new boss sounds like a handful!! Can't wait to read more :)

  • This is very well written. I adore this. You are so talented! I know you didn't request but I am subscribing to this!

  • I think she's had enough time to grieve that it's an appropriate time for her to move into anger but I don't know how much of an outlet she's had as far as getting all her emotions out, so maybe talking to this girl will be good for her! I hope so. she needs someone with her through this!!
    September 28th, 2014 at 12:23pm
  • I actually like that you jumped straight into anger. As somebody who has experienced close family death twice this year (so far) I know as well as anybody that people take things in different ways, at different paces.

The fact that Lane can actually see Azrael means that she has somebody to physically blame for the things happening to her, and that would accelerate the anger portion of her grieving process. So I think it works quite nicely.

I'm interested in seeing how Lilac reacts - angry, thinking that Lane is playing her? Or excited, meeting somebody so special? She also seems like the sort of person who might try to take advantage. <_< So. Definitely interested in seeing what happens there.

Loving the story. ^_^ Eager for more!

And as an unrelated piece of information, my Siamese fighting fish (who I've had for almost two years now) decided to pass last night as well - and his name was Azrael! D=

  • awwww, Chandler :( i guess it was to be expected.. things had changed with him since the moment he got brought back. i guess in hindsight i see it now, the foreshadowing, but it still sucks that Lane's going to be pretty much alone :( i can't wait to see where you take the rest of this story my dear!!
