You've got a really good eye for wonderful description and engaging metaphors / similes, you really do. Everything was so vivid when I was reading about these two people who have the simplest relationship, which was really lovely. I had a perfectly-painted picture in my mind when I was reading through - it was almost like reading a snapshot into a moment frozen in time.
There was a strange yet captivating depth to his eyes - it hypnotised her, led her to him like a lamb to the slaughter.
I adore that line in particular. It's such a simple little sentence, but it's so telling of how their relationship works.
The idea of two people being each others' medicine through the use of simple conversation and mindless chatter is a really interesting one, and it wasn't a thought that had actually struck me before reading this. In a way, friends are kind of like medicine to soothe the horrible stuff that life throws at you and the way that these two show that through their interests and cigarette-smoking sessions in his garage are absolutely incredible.
