You have a way of writing that truly captures the curiosity of the reader - I am a very curious person anyway, but this... I can't help but wonder what the hell is this? And I mean that in the best of ways. I'm seriously at a loss for what exactly is going on - perhaps that's the beauty of it. The narrator doesn't seem to particularly know what's going on him(her?)self. Obviously the soccer field is in flames, but why? What time period is this set in? I can't help but wonder if this is going to have some sort of historical significance or may even be inspired by the World Cup that's happening now. I loved the part where you spoke about the flags - I don't know why, I just thought it was brilliant. And because I am so curious, you have found yourself a new subscriber and I do hope you update this soon so I can find out exactly what's going on. You couldn't have created a better beginning for this if you tried.
