Rusty? You call yourself a rusty writer? This one-shot clearly did not show a rusty writer. The song itself is amazing, and to put the song into a different version, yet still staying true to the song was done well. The entire piece felt like a movie playing in my head, almost like a music video without the true lyrics of the song, but I could still hear the beat of the song playing in my had as I read. You need to go back to writing, because you honestly write really well. I enjoy reading your work and really hope you get back to writing more.
