like pallid, i had a thousand scenarios going through my head. at first i assumed it could be an apocalypse or maybe a world starting @ the edge of war(?) but then i realized that it's a village so maybe the count of deaths who were previous people living in said village could've been a couple hundred, not too many. i love drabbles bc it gives me a piece of the puzzle & i always wonder what goes through the writer's mind when they take a snippet in such a fashion for the world to read. curiosity has killed the cat

What? WHAT? I reread this three times trying to figure it out because my mind was coming up with so many different scenarios. What can explode so drastically that an entire town is killed, a town reduced to rubble and corpses? And then I thought about how the narrator was alone now, somehow lucky and tragically unlucky. Where do they go from there? What do they do now that they've lost everyone in one fell swoop? God, I loved this and I hated it because I want to know what did it, what happened, where does it go from there, but it was so, so wonderful. You packed a hard punch in so few words and it was so good.

Wow. This is so powerful! I'm so amazed at any writer who can tell a story that's really powerful in so few words. This is the first story from the Drabble-a-thon that I've read, but it has me excited to read more! I'll probably read and comment more of yours too, so expect me.
