This is very interesting. Your first line had me thinking so quickly, like, what is this going to be about? Through the example passion is very evident and drives the reader on until the closing line where you finally reveal what you meant by giving an example. You use a serious of metaphors so articulately, yet, so personally that gaining the feeling you describe seems inevitable. Fantastic work!

I think I recommended this way quicker than I should.

A simple situation described with such detail and referred into a much more deep meaning, the character couldn’t get the person off their mind therefore being able to associate such. I’d be interested to know the rest of this, like the what is going on with the main characters and their love interest.
