the truth in this piece is...wow, it hits home as i do believe everyone @ some point in their life wishes to turn back time & change the outcome after going through some form of pain or suffering. to change the chapters within this storybook of life is - inevitably - something we can't do & i feel like it's a very bittersweet thing. even as these two characters are catching up on life w/ one another, you can tell that whatever feeling she felt for him is still apparent & despite wanting it, they are two completely changed & different people (as of seven years). i think the truth behind this is brilliant & definitely something that everyone is touched by.

See, this surprised me because not most people will admit that they wish things would have gone differently. Most people tend to romanticize so much that they convince themselves that they wouldn't change a thing, it was a beautiful experience no matter what, or that they would change what they did but not rewrite their story. So it was both surprising and refreshing to have someone flat out, bluntly declare the truth and how it wasn't even said out of spite. It was a bittersweet declaration, I feel like, and left this resonating sadness in me almost. All in all, I just loved this so much.

Once again your command of short dialogue and its inclusion in a drabble amazes me. I think it's interesting that you link rewriting a story and turning back time, because while I see the connection through you work, it's not something that I had previously linked. There is such a bold honesty in admitting, or declaring, to someone that you would change your story with them; that you wish things had gone differently.
