Word bomb number two! Out of I don't know how many more. Mr. Green

This for chapters sixth through eight.

Ugh, coughing up blood. Been there, done plenty of that. That shit isn't fun.

Aw! Twinkie is such a sweet heart, doing so much to distract her from her fear of being in cars. And he's a military kid! I've got a lot of friends like that, being one myself. My brother enlisted in the Marines after the attack on the World Trade Center (so, today is kind of a big deal for me, as it is for most Americans) and while his time served didn't take us quite as far as Japan, I've been from coast to coast. From Parris Island to Camp Pendleton. My brother's friend Phil, both him and his wife are former Marines, and did live in Japan for some time, I think.

I like her rules. They match mine! And why do I feel like her 'hopefully' won't be so... Hopeful?

Anyways, I don't think she'll lose her friends. Definitely not Neela, she's very understanding. Twinkie is too.

I'm just kind of making notes of the things that cross my mind as I'm reading, so I apologize if it sounds like a big rambling mess! This is from chapter two to five.

Love the design of the apartment, especially the bedroom. My own has an oriental theme: I have lots of art work from China, swords, etc. Japanese culture has always been one of my loves.

Twinkie? Now where did that nickname come from? Haha, great character work with that. I like Neela, and Morimoto... Not sure what to think of him yet. Neela seems to know him well. I love how the keep telling her not to ask what the food is. I'm sure that could be said about some of my own cooking... But hey, people still eat it!

I also like the fact that she's hesitant to tell her new friends she's sick. I wonder why that is? I can totally relate to what she's feeling though, with how everyone's attention is on her. I felt the same when I moved schools a few years back, but now this place is home. I'm sure Amelia will adjust, it'll just take some time.

Hmm... Morimoto is a ladies man, obviously. He races, doesn't he? Does Neela's boyfriend race? I'm curious!

HAN!!!!! Very Happy Great job describing him. I want to know what she thinks seems so... Off about him. And the flower pick up line, that made me laugh.

This caught my attention because of the picture of Han, and I'm loving it so far. The first chapter normally isn't the kind of intro I go for, but I was drawn in! It has nostalgic feel through it all until the very end, where you get that surprise of WHY she's actually going to Japan. The descriptions you used and how its structured really serves to catch a good interest and make you want to know more.

Great start so far! And great summary, too!

Now, I'm off to read so more! (Expect several comments from me. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy)
