    @ nearly witches.
    I never thought about it as an original fiction piece so I'm very glad it could translate over, staying realistic, and still tug at heartstrings.

    I would definitely recommend the book and movie, as cheesy as they may seem now. The two brothers in the book aren't very close and its a source of tension- maybe even the catalyst for the entire story. I read the book in second grade so this story has been a part of my life for about 17 years. I really appreciate the lovely comment and recommendation.

    I loved writing this piece and definitely agonized over it, so y'all's comments mean everything to me.

    Thank you! I really struggle with description and agonized over this for so long. I'm happy you enjoy the conversation; those two characters don't banter much so I tried to keep it light. I really appreciate the sweet comment!

    @ insufferable;
    Wow, thank you so much. The characterization was a huge worry of mine, so I'm glad I captured it enough. Thank you so so much for the sweet comment and recommendation. I really appreciate it!

    I've actually never seen / read The Outsiders, so I can't comment on the characterisation or anything like that, but I still loved every second of this! Your description is absolutely incredible, you can definitely imagine just sitting right beside Darry and Ponyboy as they watch the sunset and have their conversation, for sure.

    I think what I like the most about this, even if you're unsure of the fandom, you can still read it as original fiction and be touched at this idea of tough love that Darry and Ponyboy exhibit. I think that's a lot more realistic of dealing with something such as losing somebody than some other stories on here. I know that through deaths in my own family, I've definitely seen that side of people. The whole thing with Darry telling Ponyboy that he's tough on him because he thinks he can go far is really lovely, and it shows (at least to me) that their bond is a lot stronger than if he had just gave him a hug and been done with the whole thing.

    This piece is absolutely lovely. It's heartbreaking and heart-warming at the same time, it shows beautiful emotion and cares effortlessly and as I said above, the description just makes it whole. Absolutely wonderful job!

    This is really beautifully written and your description creates a clear image of what is going on, which is something I love when reading.

    The conversation between Darry and Ponyboy was really well written, it was nice to see two brothers having a proper conversation instead of the usual banter I normally see.

    All in all this is strong and everything flows smoothly. There were a couple of small mistakes that I spotted as I read, but it wasn't anything major :)

    I used to be a huge fan of The Outsiders (both movie and book), but haven't done anything with them in awhile, so I'm really excited to read this!

    I love how you give insight of their lives further on after Johnny and Dally's passings. It makes this all the more real and wow, it kinda breaks my heart.

    I really enjoyed how you portrayed Darry and Ponyboy talking. I could see it all in my head; Darry being tough, but understanding and Ponyboy taking it all in. In the end, it's realized that they all have one another, they are their family which was captured beautifully in this.

    I did notice a few mistakes littered throughout the story, but they weren't overly distracting. Your descriptions were amazing and the flow was perfect. I absolutely loved this!
