The Narrows - Comments

  • It took me ages to get to the commenting part of my Candy Bowl Giveaway a friend of yours participated in (and nicely decided to give you a surprise gift) but behold it’s finally here!

Stories written in a second person point of view is difficult to do, which is why I try to stay away from writing/reading it. However, I really liked what you did here. You've made the word you have so much meaning so I can't help but say you've outdone yourself again.

This is truly an interesting and fresh piece. I liked your twist by making the girl have this appeal to not having any attention towards her. The relief she felt in the end is overpowering, which gave me a chill up my spin.

This also speaks to the issue of people making these uncanny comments to women and men who are being harassed in an inappropriate way. You've done justice!

I'm so sorry this comment was so late Sad

  • I love this. I feel like it touches on a very serious issue in a powerful way. Catcalling is so degrading and that kind of harassment is sadly very common nowadays. It makes you feel small and dirty and you really do wonder if they would act that way with their family. Well written and structured, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

  • I really, really like this.

It's something that happens to women every day and it shouldn't. We don't want to be made to feel like pieces of meat, have men cat-calling us in the street. It's gross and it's embarrassing. I wish men, and women, had a little bit of self-control.

I like the part about his wife and kids, because yeah, it makes you wonder. I would like to hope that no one would fall for something like that and think it was sweet, because it's not.

Also, no one has the right to put their hands on you without your explicit permission.

Wow, this has really made me think!
