Ooo....... for just a summary, I was rapt. War time stories can be kinda tough (I know they intimidate me as an author) but I've got high hopes for this. I'm not sure where I thought it was going to go but I did not expect for 16yr old Nastasya to "take matters into her own hands". Her own teenaged hands! What is she going to do?? I wonder if she was born a bad ass or if we'll be able to see her character grow into one. I hope to see some really good combat scenes!
I guess I'll have to read to find out. Subscribed!
I love how your prologue is set up with the emails (and you showing Russian - is it, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to other languages, my apologies - but I really love the way you set this up. It really drew me in!
Chapter One
I love the way you opened chapter one up! You describing that the powerdy stuff falling as snow, ash, or skin was so descriptive that it gave me shivers. I can't imagine living in a world like that and I already feel for Nastasya.
I'm wondering who Nastasya is waiting on to call her, and being confined in her own home must be so hard on her, especially the fact that she has no one to talk to. I'm wondering where her family/friends are, unless they were all enlisted into the war. Tell him, girl!
Chapter Two
I loved the first paragraph in chapter two as well! You really know how to bring a reader in, and I love that about your writing. Also, just your imagery in general. ANYWAY, I really like the way you described Nastasya chewing him out.
Holy shit, Ilya seems really intense. I'm wondering how Anatoly is able to work with him when he's so monstrous. Of course, unless he absolutely has to. That would make sense. R00d
I like Ilya's sass, but he seems like a huge ass (heh, rhyming). I hope Nastasya isn't next, tbh.
I'm really loving this so far! I know I've said that with literally all of your stories, but I speak the truth. Your writing is impeccable and just, so amazing and believable. As someone below said, you can tell that you've done your research. You know what you're talking about and that's another thing that makes your stories so amazing.
