Oh my god. I have been reading this story for the past couple days whenever I could get a chance and I was mesmerized. It was different from what I usually read on here but I loved it. Great job :].
Kayleigh, oh my effing gosh. You're a sleeping beauty master. I'm digging this so hard. You capture Briar's torment so well and I feel so bad for her because of everything she's been through.
"But that was back in 2012."
What a cliffhanger ending! I couldn't read the rest of this fast enough after that I've always been a huge fan of your dialogue and the way you keep it so effortlessly fitting with the times and setting of your story. The mysterious "place across the river" has me so intrigued. I'm dying to know what's going on over there and why they're taking all these kids. I HOPE THEY CAN SAVE SOME OF THEM.
Phil is so cute, aw. Even though it was a dick move ratting her out to the guards. It was so cool how the whole town basically turned on them though. I felt weirdly sad when they called her Aurora and she said that wasn't her name; and when she said she couldn't remember her dad's name. Poor Briar.
