This story leaves me thinking with the famous phrase what if? You focused your plot on that phrase, managed to tear my heart in half, while being able to make me feel insanely fuzzy on the inside. how do you do it?? LOL I adore stories about the elderly, especially when it involves a heartbreaking romance. Lorenzo’s character really made my heart ache. He talks (or you wrote) about his pain in a poetic matter, which was beautiful. I felt his pain. I think what hit me the hardest was when he was talking about Daniele knowing– “He knew, deep down, that Daniele had always known,” because I felt a splitting emotion dance from this line; both sadness and happiness in one. I just love the way you work with words. Towards the end while Lorenzo was thinking about his school’s past, I felt moved. I thought it was a great ending to include a nice thought of the day he saw her in their old classroom. Wonderful entry!
