What a wonderful story you wrote. I loved how it has an eerie feeling to it, and it even gave me chills at certain points of my reading. I agree with Rock Princess, it seemed like one horrible nightmare. I loved the little details to the setting you added.

I can't believe this story doesn't have any comments, because it is very good. At the beginning I kind of knew that it was all part of a horrible nightmare. At the end, it seems that way, but it still leaves the reader, wondering if it truly was a dream or not, since the resolution stated that sense of wonder, which makes this story very good. You described the emotions of the main character very well, as well as the actions of the shadows which drew me more in into reading.

I didn't really see any grammar or spelling errors, so that was very good. Overall, this is a great piece.
