Thank you so much for this lovely comment. I'm so happy you've picked up on little aspects of my story too! I think the relationship between Rachel and Charlie is one of my favourite parts to write because I think they're both really interesting characters who balance each other out well. It's nice to write a good, healthy friendship!

When I began reading this, I always wondered what sort of Witch Charlie was. I liked how you established parts of the story first, before delving in more detail, like when you revealed what sort of Witch she was. From the sound of it, she seemed like a different mix (but, fitting to the title, I will add) and I’m excited to see how that will unfold. I never guessed her parents would be anti-magic, but then again, looking back, it makes sense when we see how Charlie is quite hesitant at times in terms of her magic. I found the sentence: “Accepting yourself was difficult when the soul of you was denied” quite fitting, as I feel like it summarises Charlie as a character right now.

I also liked how you’ve depicted the relationship between Rachel and Charlie (btw, I love the name Charlie!), and how conscious, but careful Rachel is to Charlie. I’m also excited to see more of Pearl and Faye.

Thank you :) So basically, I wanted to make a story where witches are treated in the same way homosexual, trans-gendered individuals, and people of colour can be. I thought projecting all of that onto people who are seen as "normal" like everyone else would make people see the harsh reality of what real people are dealing with for something they too can't change. There will definitely be a look into the extremism aspect of things, from both "sides" I guess you would say.

I wanted to write a witch story because;
1) It's Halloween soon,
2) I've always been in love with the concept of witches.
3) I think witches are close enough to our reality that they make a good comparison point between people who are victim to racial/homophobic/transphobic actions

I think this story is a way of showing my views on equal rights and the lack of them in so many places, without directly showing them. It's a comparison to reality where people who might not realise their behaviour is insensitive, can be shown it without directly calling them out, I guess you could say.

Okay, this looks interesting honestly. I like it more because obviously it's still unfolding and so has a lot of potential. Uhm if I am understanding you Nereid, this is a world where witches live alongside humans at least they are open enough to own their distinctness. So I had like to know is this story moving into the protagonist coming into and fully owning her powers, as in some sort of personal quest? I understand you are pro equality and balance as against extremism at least for now. If so should we expect a shift in balance at some point, that would be interesting and if that doesn't happen it's the more interesting which zone you are going to push the story to. Where the further excitement is going to come from. Really interesting build up anyway and just to add a little more bit. Why are you writing a witch story?
