All kidding aside, I enjoyed this drabble. You managed to paint what the post-conquest world was like by the main character's actions and the precautions she took on her way back to her home. I really like the post-apocalyptic feel of this piece. I found myself curious about the different groups the main character mentioned, like the Rovers and the Hordes. I also appreciate how this can be read as a complete piece, but it could also be the opening chapter to a chaptered story.
If you ever do decide to extend this one-shot to a series I would definitely be subscribing. But no pressure, obviously. You can't force a masterpiece out.
