I'm glad it all turned out for the best, but Phil could have handled it better. Even if he chose to do his third degree in an attempt to test her loyalty, he should have told her immediately after that everything was fine instead of letting her sweat all night. Dick.
Brian is so sweet. He cares about the things that matter to her and wants to speak to her at every chance. Where can I find a buy like that in the real world? Lol.
I understand why the band is upset she didn't tell them, but she's right. She's an adult and has to do some things on her own, especially when it comes to her job with Halestorm. She knows people believe she's only there because of her brother and her friendships, so she has to work even harder to prove that she is actually a skilled tech who deserves her position.
And I love Josh I know it hurts him to say that, but they all have to accept that she may move on one day...

Loved this and I don’t blame Evie for her outburst in the meeting. I am glad that Phil sacked Troy though, even though he should’ve told Evie straight away instead of leaving her hanging.

Evie’s stomach rolled at the rich scent, and she couldn’t figure out if it was because she was nauseous or hungry. She was not willing to play Russian roulette to find out. – Oh, honey, been there… it’s not fun. Haha. Especially if it’s caused by hunger, since you refuse to eat so it won’t go away. Hahaha.

Well… I’m not sure how I feel about Phil right now. Part of me thinks he’s still a dick, but part of me kind of understands his position. I dunno, I think he could’ve handled it better and he could’ve found out about her intentions/loyalty without playing games, but I understand his need to clarify those things. He is detached from the band enough that he can make better business decisions than they can, especially regarding one of their own. It’s not insane to think Evie would consider moving on to bigger and better things, she has her own career to worry about, after all. Loyalty is important, don’t get me wrong, but she still needs to consider what is best for her career, not just what’s best for the band.

I agree. The judgy clock can get fucked Evie deserves a drink after dealing with Phil's useless ass. I understand maintaining a level of professionalism, but this is ridiculous. To even entertain Troy's little game...it's just senseless. I love that Evie has handled it so far instead of going to Lzzy and her brother. While I'm sure it wouldn't change THEIR opinions of her, stuff like that has a way of spreading in the industry, and she would always be that girl who "tattled" and let her brother fight her battle.

I don't like Phil. I hope he gets stung by a bee and hit in the head with a hammer. He is being a dick. To even considering replacing Evie because of his misguided perception that she'd made errors at ONE show is ridiculous. Clearly he's not as smart as he likes to think. He's letting himself be manipulated at this point, which is bullshit.

Evie handled herself very well with her confrontation with Phil. She didn't fly off the handle, she made more than reasonable arguments and did all she could to defend her position. I'm proud of her!

She poured herself a drink, deciding against alcohol thanks to the judgy clock that read 1pm. - Bahahaha! Judgy clocks are the worst.

Deciding that the judgemental clock could get fucked, Evie poured herself a bourbon, sans coke, and took a sip. - YES, GIRL! The clock can just mind its own goddamn business!

It sucks she's going through a rough time and the one person who could make her feel better is so far away. I'm hoping the meeting goes well--selfishly, I kind of hope Phil lives up to his douchey title and pushes her out, so she can go be with Brian--and she doesn't end up jobless. That would blow.

So she had wrangled that pesky green eyed monster back in his cage before he had even escaped, deciding instead to bask in the attention Brian had showered on her all night. - oh, jealousy is such a hard thing to deal with. I'm glad she was able to reassure herself, but I assume this may not always be so easy. Especially once they're a part. It's only natural, after all.

I totally get her hesitance in revealing their relationship to Larry. She has her career and reputation to think about and although the relationship is genuine and there's something real there, she still knows that the reality is people will pass judgement and this can have an impact. It sucks, but it's true.

Oh, that was so sad. They're so smitten and that just sucked that they had to go their separate ways. I really hope they can make long distance work. They have only just begun and I know it's gonna be super hard, but they truly do seem made for each other.. Argh. Heartbreaking!

This chapter made me happy and hurt my heart at the same time. I love the dynamic between Evie and Brian, of course, and I'm glad their relationship is out in the open -- and that it's looking like a real relationship that will continue (always nice to know Bri isn't a liar, lol).
But poor Josh. Her new relationship is creating distance between them, and while it has to happen eventually with all siblings, that doesn't make it suck any less.
I'm interested to see what happens next. How is she going to handle Troy? Will further conversation ease Josh's concern? Will Brian ask her to come back with him instead of going home? Ugh! Lol. So ready for more!

Well the sibling chat went reasonably well. I totally understand and even empathise with Josh's concerns, but she's right; she's not 16, she's a big girl and she needs to be able to make her own choices and even mistakes (although I hope Brian will not end up being a mistake) in life. He can't protect her from them, he needs to just let her go and be there to catch her if she falls.

Now Evie gets to have a long talk with her other family...and I imagine her brother won't be 100% thrilled. Seems like Evie has a lot on her plate (again).
