Grief is one heck of a thing to go through, and I absolutely love how it was used in this piece. I could see Rachel going through a few of the stages; disbelief could be seen in the beginning as she is trying to rationalize whether or not it's a dream, anger for getting onto the ship, and then ending with acceptance of what's happened to her as well as what is going to happen to her.
Other than that, I really enjoyed how the reader gets the details of what's happening through her thoughts/ writings. You don't go into explicit detail as to what is around her and what exactly is happening; the environment around her is only what she tells us it is, and that works with something like this. It's kinda vague, but we are reading it from Rachel's perspective; no normal person thinks in specific details.
I really enjoyed this. I was basically on the edge of my seat, hoping something good was going to happen. There isn't anything that I didn't like about this; it was refreshing, emotional, and all over amazing.
