Chapter Two
“I need to eat!” Tomoya declared loudly, his hands placed over his stomach for effect and pouting. - Bahaha! They need to feed the man!
...he remained quiet, leaning against the counter of their kitchen area as he snuck glances at the shy brunette that stood only a few feet from him. - Bahahaha! So cute. He's already seemingly quite enamored by her
“Let’s do that because I hungry!” Tomoya said, walking towards the exit of the bus. -
I love how she's so comfortable with him, while simultaneously awkward in the way that she wants to create conversation, but doesn't know where to start. It would be a confusing feeling, especially considering everything she's already been through today. It's a hell of an emotional roller coaster!
“He stalked me for a year when he was recruiting me. He kept showing up to my part-time job, asking me to join his band,” Taka said with a deadpan expression though his tone was slightly playful. - That's hilarious!!
The room reminded her of the typical retro style restaurant from Grease with the black and white checkered linoleum floors and shiny red vinyl booths. - This diner sounds so cool! I wanna go there!
“Where’s the guy you’re usually with?” he asked, tilting his head a bit. - Argh, oh kid...
“She’s traded up to our group this time,” Taka said jokingly, making her laugh. - Damn right!
He wanted to make sure that Taka wasn’t going to backslide into his distress from the start of the tour. - His bandmate's concern is sweet. I like that he's seeing the connection between the two and is curious about it, but also slightly wary of what will become of his friend once the encounter is over. Especially since they're leaving the next day.
The browsing of the menus is rather adorable. I like that Tomoya needs help understanding the menu and his bandmate is so patiently helping him. It's a small gesture, but a rather sweet one. He seems like the younger one of the group.
“The next one after tonight’s show is Panic at the Disco, which will be back in San Diego but that’s not for another two months.” - I wanna see Panic! at the Disco!!
Her memory of the first time she heard her favourite song and was with Marcus is bittersweet. I like that at this point it's not tainted by his presence in the memory, she's focused on how it sparked her love for the band and their music.
Remi sighed, shrugging, “Two out of three on my favorites list isn’t so bad.” - Damn straight! Although I quietly hope they throw the other one in... just for her
She felt like it was sort of wrong to be so attracted to someone else, especially within the hour of her last relationship coming to an end, but Taka’s whole presence was captivating. - Oh, honey, Marcus was a zero... no one judges you for being a attracted to the hero!!
“Well, I’m oldest!” Tomoya beamed, gesturing to himself. “I’m 32 but still young in my heart.” - That just makes him even more adorable!!
I'm sorry, only her parents remembered her birthday?! Does that mean Douche king forgot?! Oh, he's losing a kneecap after I'm through with him with my bat!!
Naww, some of them have kids. That's adorable!
She could feel her lips twitch upward into a smile at his gesture, taking a deep breath to keep her emotions from spilling over as they had previously in the day, momentarily shutting her eyes to relish in the gentility of his hand on hers. - Hero 1, Zero -10
As much as I don't want to see her dwell on her failed relationship, I like the realism that it's still on her mind. It was so recent and she really has had no time to process everything that has happened, so I like that it's still seeping in every now and then.
“You can’t do that to a fan! I would feel bad for turning you guys against him, especially since he’s the one that loves your music so much. I know I’m hurting but I don’t want him to suffer.” - She's too nice! He's a dick and he deserves to suffer! Argh...
He opened his mouth about to say something to the pair only to be silenced by a half-full backpack sailing through the air from behind him, striking him in the back of the head before falling down to the ground. -
Ryota just beamed at Taka with a triumphant expression, walking past the singer to show Remi what exactly needed to be thrown away or stored. - Cheeky bugger!!
She glanced behind her, seeing that Taka was the one that had grabbed her, his hands still on her hips and holding her body close to his. She was aware of the fact that her own hands were still over his, feeling her fingers gently caress his hand. -
Even though his actions thus far had been strictly platonic, Taka couldn’t discount the amount of times he seemed to seek her touch in the short period that she had made his acquaintance. - It's a ticking clock! They need to make this courtship a fast one!
I don't blame her for avoiding her friends call or for wanting to stay in the safe bubble of avoidance that is the bus. She deserves some time to quietly process and even avoid the pain that's been thrust on her. There'll be plenty of time for her to face reality tomorrow...
Can't wait for the next one!!
Chapter Three
I totally get where Remi is coming from as she allows the mountain of laundry to distract her from her thoughts. You know I'm not fond of laundy, but honestly the bit I hate is putting it all away. I don't mind folding, since it is a visual task; I mean you start with this big messy pile of clothes and it ends with neat, folded piles and I like that. It makes me feel accomplished. Hahaha.
Taka wanted her to smile and more importantly, he wanted to be the one that was the source of her smile. Despite the hardships she was facing, Taka wanted Remi to know that she wasn’t alone, not as long as she was with him. - Oh, Taka! You're such a sweetheart!
Argh. Marcus. I hope he didn't get VIP tickets. He is not a VIP, he is a VDP--Very Douchey Person
I love that although the wounds from Douchebag are still there, she's allowing the distraction of Taka and the others to help make her feel better. And it's showing her that life without that wad is actually better; I mean if she was still with him, she wouldn't have met Taka and the band and be experiencing an afternoon/evening that I'm sure a lot of people would kill to have.
Naww... I kind of love that just parting for the time it takes Taka and the guys to do sound check has so quickly bummed them out. I don't like that they're sad, but the bond they're so quickly forming is so cute.
Hahaha! I love her carefree attitude as she loses herself in her headphones and dances around the barren floor! I take my hat off to her, since I would not have the balls to do the same. But it's good to see her having fun and just enjoying the moment. And I love seeing Taka being so mesmerised by her... not that I blame him. He is quite smitten already. Hahaha.
If needed, Taka was ready to join her in her dancing just as long as it kept the beautiful smile on her face. - NAWWW!!
Oh, Toru, don't be such a Debbie Downer! You don't have to understand... just relax and go with the flow. He likes her, that's all that matters.
Hahaha! Poor Remi. So awkward for her to realise she had an audience... a very captivated one.
“Feel free to dance if you hear anything you like,” Ryota joked, pulling his bass around so that it was in front of his body again. - Hahaha!
The scene with her filming them playing one of her favourite songs is amazing! I love the interaction between her and the band--especially Taka, of course. It definitely created an awesome experience for her and it's awesome that she'll have something to look back on to remember it. I'm actually jealous. Hahaha.
“I like your voice,” Taka said quietly, his statement earning suggestive cheers from his bandmates. - Hahaha! Oh, I bet he does...
Argh! I know they literally just met, but I am dying for their first kiss! The tension is almost palpable and they are so into each other! I love how they're practically thinking the same thing but neither is confidant enough to make the first move. Even though it's killing me! Hahaha.
“You need your strength for more dancing!” Ryota teased, glancing up from his phone.
Remi laughed at that statement, shaking her head a bit, “Alright. Just so I have my strength for dancing.” - She's never gonna live that down...
“Ramen,” Tomoya said absent-mindedly. - damn, Tomoya has Ramen stuck in his brain! Somebody feed him some ramen stat!
NAWW! She's taking a nap on him... and he's enjoying having her curled into him so much! These two, I swear they're just far too damn cute!! And yes, I bet he's thinking about kissing her... but I suggest he waits until she's awake. That might startle her a little. Plus... there's other people in the room. It might get weird. Hahaha.
It's good that Taka finally filled the guys in on Remi's story. It will certainly help them understand how this random woman came into the picture and why Taka is almost protective of her. She's had a pretty crappy day and he just wants to turn it around for her... which he obvious already has. Although I don't think this will bring Toru around to the idea of her... just because I feel he might worry more about the connection between the two; not just because of the limited time they have together but now also because she literally just got out of a relationship.
Despite their limited time together, Taka planned to make the most of each moment while he could, damning the consequences. - YES!
I love that she wakes up and freaks just a little, but quickly calms down. Obviously the enjoyment of being that close to Taka definitely outweighed the awkwardness of waking up. Hahaha.
“Sounds like the beginning of a rom-com,” Julen commented with a small grin. - You're not wrong, buddy! These two are making their own rom-com!
He was enjoying the fact that she seemed as fascinated with him as he was with her. - Understatement of the chapter... hahaha. You're both smitten kittens!
She started to worry that she had made them feel a little uncomfortable since they wouldn’t be able to communicate as easily with her. - She's such a sweetheart. Always worrying that she's putting the guys out or making them uncomfortable... she's a very thoughtful person. But I'm pretty sure they're used to her presence now and are actually enjoying her company.
“Oh my God. Taka was looking over here! I met his eyes and he smiled at me!” - Oh, so cute! Y'know, these teenagers are the perfect example of adoring fans. The funny thing is, I'm in my thirties and I'd still probably freak out like poor Nicki. Hence why I'm kind of glad I haven't actually met most of my favourite artists... I know I'd make a dickhead of myself for sure.
Ohhh... the interaction between the band and the teenagers is amazing. They're so patient and sweet and are clearly just making the kids day. Love it!!
At least during her difficult time, she had someone who understood and was there for her, even if it wasn’t always through words. - Beautiful ending to the chapter... they're so cute! Now I'm starting to worry about them having to part ways... sigh!!
Okay, so the positive from having taken so long to read this chapter is that I don't have as long to wait for the next one... right?
