Isabel, my name is Isabel

Chapter 2

****She was sure her legs would give up soon, she wasn’t going to be able to keep running, she could hear her faint breathing, oxygen barely arriving to her brain, her ears buzzing, a sharp pain in her chest from the effort. But she couldn’t stop now, not yet.
Finally she arrived at her destiny, without stopping to rest she opened the door of the house.
-“¡Frederick! ¡Frederick! Where are you?
But nobody answered. Her eyes blurred, this couldn’t be happening.
After checking everywhere in the house and not finding him, she entered her brother’s room for the second time. This time she noticed something she had missed before: a note.
She took it, read its content quickly and with an enormous effort to keep steady and not to faint she ran out of the house.
Now she knew where he was, she needed to get there immediately, she couldn’t let this happen.
She arrived, exhausted, but her eyes were searching for him, at last she saw him.
“Isabel”
Was the last thing she heard coming out of his lips. She screamed, all sorts of feelings invading her, an excruciating pain invading her body. She did not arrive on time.
She kneeled on the floor and let her tears run freely, the salty taste of them invading her mouth.
Nothing matter anymore, her brother, her only brother; the only thing left in her life, was gone. He was dead.***
