Robert Emerson is the baseball all-star of his team at Liberty High School. His father is a big time lawyer well known all throughout Chicago. His mother is a housewife who is well liked and known for her bake sale winning pies. Robert Emerson is popular and rich. He can get away with anything. Well, almost anything.
When he gets roped into a dilemma involving arson, alcohol, and the authorities he must do eight months of community service as a candy striper, but not just any candy striper. No, Robert has to volunteer at the Bell Tower Insane Asylum where he meets a group of people that will change his life forever.
