‹ Prequel: Everything I'm Not

Love's Requiem

Angel's Wings

Once we got to the arts center, we quickly went in and took our places.
My Dad took my arm, as we waited outside the doors, and soon my Kara walked in with Rian, Melanie with Zack, Monica with Vinny, while Michi waited with Jack to go in he pulled out his phone quickly.

“Hey Bella” Jack whispered. He then played the line from Mortal combat that went “Finish Him!” just as he walked out.

I busted out laughing, while my dad tugged my arm because it was our turn.

I wanted to be different this time, instead of the typical bridal march we walked in to Clair de lune. Alex once again had that stupidly huge grin on his face when I saw him and felt myself get it too. My dad kissed my cheek as he let go of my arm and hugged Alex as he went to go sit down next to my mom.

“Round 2” I whispered to Alex as he took my hand.

“Fight!” Jack mumbled making the three of us chuckle as the pastor cleared his throat.

“Family, friends we are here today to witness the marriage between Isabella and Alexander.” He began. “I was asked to read the vows that the bride and groom had written for each other.” He went on.

“Isabella, do you promise to put laugh at all of Alex’s stupid jokes, and tell him he’s the next Elvis?” He asked as I chuckled.

“Yes,” I nodded.

“And continue to manage him and tell him what to do, as well as walk the dogs because he always forgets?”

“Of course.” I nodded.

“Alexander, do you promise to always take Bella to see the Acacia strain, or bleeding through whenever they’re in town, and to clean blood off her collar bone when she chases Jack up dinosaurs?”

“Who wouldn’t?” Alex laughed.

“And do you promise to be her constant source of heat when on tour, as well as to put up with her terrible obsession with football?”

“I do.” Alex told me with a smile.

“Now I ask Jack for the rings.” He went on, as Jack pulled out our rings and handed them to him.

“Repeat after me,” He told Alex. “With this ring, I take you Isabella as my wife to love and to hold for as long as we both shall live.”

“With this ring I take you Isabella” Alex repeated him as he slipped the ring on my finger.

“Now Isabella,” He went on.

“With this ring I take you Alexander as my husband to love and hold for as long as we both shall live.” I told him, with a smile.

“By the power invested in me by the state of Maryland I now pronounce you both husband and wife you may kiss the bride.” He announced as Alex dipped me while he kissed me hard.

Everyone was cheering and clapping, as well as some people who were howling.
We then headed to take a million more pictures, followed by the bridal party going upstairs to one of the smaller rooms while everyone else went to the cocktail hour Alex said we had to have.

“The second time around it’s easier.” I said as Alex and I were in the bathroom and he was helping me unzip the back of my dress.

“Maybe cause it was in English.” He joked.

“Well that made it easier for you.” I laughed spinning around and kissing him.

“Alright you two, save it for the honey moon!” Jack said banging on the door.

“What honeymoon!” We both shouted.

I changed in to the short white dress I had bought at the Zadar market, and headed out of the room.

“Can you see the baby bump?” I whispered in Alex’s ear as I checked my dress in the mirror.

“You look fine.” He assured me.

I nodded as someone came up to tell us it was time for all of us to head down to the main room for the entrance.

“You ready?” Alex asked me as he took my hand as we waited to be announced after Michi and Jack had walked in.

“More than ever.” I smiled.

“And now, introducing the new Mr and Mrs Alex Gaskarth!” A guy with a thick European accent announced and in Alex and I walked to the open riff of Slayer’s raining blood.

I couldn’t help but laugh, everyone else had wide eyes and looked confused and then began laughing as well.

“Greatest Idea I’ve ever had.” I told Alex as he kissed me.

After a few pictures it was time for our first dance, and it literally was seeing as we didn’t have one in Croatia.

The music started up, and in our typical form it was the complete polar opposite of what we entered to. Everyone had expected us to have" Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica since that was one of the few bands we both agreed on, however we stumped them all and went with "I don’t Wanna Know" by New Found Glory because it fit us perfectly.

“Are you ready for your surprise now?” Alex whispered in my ear as the song finished.

“Do I have a choice?” I asked as he covered my eyes.

“Oh little Bella my darling, this goes out to you.” A thick, what sounded like Russian accented voice announced.

I heard a familiar tune be played from a guitar as Alex dropped his hands.

“Oh my god!” I said with wide eyes.

“Caravan is coming all guitars are strumming, Chief is sitting high with gold upon the chest. I’m just a little chavo I don’t even own a guitar. But mama they got girl that I love the best.” The familiar voice sang.

Alex had gotten Gogol Bordello to play at our wedding.

“How did you?” I asked amazed.

“Don’t worry about it.” He smiled as Sofia waddled to me looking to dance.

I picked her up as slowly people started approaching the dance floor to dance while they continued to play their version of Lela Pala Tute.

They played a few more songs, and then the singer Eugene began to deejay while the food began to be served.

“I love you.” I told Alex as he held my hand under the table.

“I love you too Bella.” He smiled giving me a kiss.
