‹ Prequel: Everything I'm Not

Love's Requiem

Dance inside

“Come on, let’s get you unpacked.” He said pulling me up as we headed for my bags.

About an hour in to unpacking and sorting my laundry, Jesse came across the jersey.

“What’s this?” He asked holding up Niko’s Dinamo jersey.

“An old promise.” I told him taking it and holding it.

“What?”

“He promised me back in the day that, if he ever got on Dinamo he’d give me his first jersey. So one night he showed up out of nowhere asking me to come outside and he gave it to me.”

“And how did Alex feel about that?”

“He didn’t care, he was very cool with everything.” I smiled.

“Does he know the whole story between you and Niko?”

“No which is probably why he was very cool with everything.” I told him making him laugh.

“He knows we dated, that was it. I figured that was the best I mean besides he never got in to details with me about Lisa or any of his Exes.”

“Good point.” He agreed as I put the jersey on my bed and went back to sorting.

After we had finished sorting through everything I had brought back, as well as my laundry we headed out so I could get some food in; as well as photo paper, albums, and a few frames.

"Are you sure you're good?" Jesse asked me as I was pushing him out the door that night.

"Yes, really I'm fine. I'm going to do laundry and sleep all day tomorrow." I explained.

"Alright, but if you need anything, call me okay?"

"Done." I nodded, "Now go home!" I laughed.

After he left I sent Alex a text telling him I was calling it a night and that I loved him before I headed to sleep. My plans of sleeping of my jet lag were short lived when I was awoken at 9 am by someone slamming on my door.

"Jesse seriously I have everything!" I exclaimed as I undid the locks.

"Alex said I was one of the reasons you came home." Jack smirked, twirling a pair of car
keys around his finger.

"Oh you suck!" I grumbled as he headed in throwing his backpack down.

"I also brought you your christmas present." He added tossing me the keys.

"Thanks." I told him as I went to make some coffee abandoning any ideas of going back to sleep.

"So how was the motherland?" He asked hugging me tightly.

"It was great, my family is great, my friends are great." I said closing my eyes as I leaned my head back.

"I didn't know Alex gave you a locket too."

"He didn't." I said as I smelt the coffee.

"Who did?" He asked following me in to the kitchen.

"A friend." I said as he opened it.

"Who's that?"

"Luka, and Niko." I explained pointing at them, "Niko gave it to me."

"Niko... the Niko?" He exclaimed remembering.

"Yes, the Niko." I said closing it and getting two cups.

"What does it say one the back?" He asked as I remembered what Jesse had told me before.

"Friendship is a lifetime." I lied.

"That's cute." He said dismissing the subject.

Jack and I spent the rest of the day and evening doing my laundry, talking about the rest of my trip and then packing my bag for Baltimore. As well as filling up the photo albums I had bought. And hanging the pictures of Niko, Luka and I in my hallway where I had tons more pictures from tours and of friends hanging up. The picture that Niko had given me however was framed and then put on my dresser. The following morning we headed out for breakfast and then we both exchanged the christmas presents we had for each other.
