Love's Requiem

After the first few shows, I think I finally have calmed my nerves a bit. Alex was already home in Baltimore because they finished earlier than they had expected. The plus side of this tour was the last day was in Baltimore.

"Yo hot scream-y girl!" I heard someone call from behind me while John, Jesse and I were at 7-11 at one of the pit stops on the way to the next city.

"I think that's being directed towards you." Jesse laughed, as we turned around from the slurpee machine.

"Him or me?" I asked pointing at John only to find Buz and Ken of Unearth, causing me to try and not become a fan girl.

"You! You're like our hero!" Ken said hugging me, while my eyes went wide and I saw Jesse and John snigger.

"I didn't do anything." I chuckled once he let go of me.

"Uh hello you're like a chick filling in for a dude and your growls are insane." He went on
while I went back to getting a slurpee.

"Thank you I think?"

"I think we have to take her under our wing, don't you?" Ken asked looking at Buz.

"I think we do too." Buz nodded in agreement.

"I don't have to go under no body's nothing." I said as I felt myself get picked up. "Whoa!
Jesse help me!" I screeched as I was carried out of the store.

And thus began my friendship with Ken Susi and Buz McGrath.

By the second week of the tour, all the bands had became friends with one another. I usually could always be found either with the obvious Jesse, or John as well as Ken from Unearth.

"I told you, you were worried for nothing!" Alex laughed over the phone one night that him and I were talking.

"I know, I know guess where we're going tomorrow on our day off?" I giggled as Jesse came to the back lounge along with Mike.

"Let's see, what city are you going to be in?"

"Pomona."

"Hmm" He paused for a second, "Universal?"

"Close Disneyland!" I exclaimed.

"Gimme the phone!" Jesse said jerking the phone out of my grasp. "Please explain to her she's 23 and shouldn't be this excited to go to Disneyland, please Alex? She's been screeching how she's going to eat breakfast with the princesses all day and she even tried to make a hardcore version of "A dream is a wish your heart makes'," he went on before he handed it back to me.

"In my defense it sounded pretty sick." I told Alex, making him laugh.

"I'm sure it did." He said sarcastically, "Calm down and go get some sleep."

"I can't! I'm not tired."

"Jesus he wasn't kidding."

"Don't side with Jesse he's the enemy."

"But you love Jesse."

"Not anymore, now I love Ken because he buys me a strawberry frosted donut every time he
goes to Dunkin donuts to get coffee in the morning."

"Bella it's 3 am here, I'm going to sleep, you should do the same that way by the time you wake up you'll be ready to go to Disneyland."

"That is a good point."

"See, good night Bella I love you."

"Night Alex, I love you too and I promise I'll stay out of trouble tomorrow."

"Good, have fun." He said before he hung up. "Night!" I exclaimed as I dashed for my bunk to go to sleep.

The next morning we arrived at the hotel we were staying at and then headed to Disneyland.

"Bella calm down." Jesse said holding me back by the belt loop of my jeans as we approached the entrance of Disneyland.

"I want a Sleeping beauty crown, no I want mickey ears, wait no I want a Jasmine crown. Where do we eat breakfast with Mickey? Where's the rides ooo! Let's go on the tea cups and then let's go on it's a small world oh man and then let's-"I rambled on.

"Bella!" At least five people shouted at me.

"Sorry." I mumbled as we got our admissions.

Disneyland was the most fun I think any of us had on the tour, I ended up getting Mickey ears that had a a veil and a butterfly on them that sparkled, as well as a sleeping beauty light up wand and few other toys. We spent the whole day at Disney and downtown disney in the evening to watch the fireworks they set off every night. Once we were back at the hotel, I was having a sword/wand fight with Ken while Jesse was borrowing my laptop in our room.

"You're getting a video request from Prince Charming." Jesse shouted to me over the music we were blasting that was very fitting, Killswitch's cover of Holy Diver.

"Accept!" I shouted as I swatted Ken in the head with my wand and jumped on the empty bed.

"Princess Bella is apparently fighting off the dragons." I heard Jesse explain as he lowered the music.

"He's not a dragon he's dwarf!" I corrected as I attempted to tackle him.

"I'm taller than you! And my sword lights up!" Ken protested hitting the button that made his sword light up.

"My wand sparkles and lights up." I said sticking my tongue out.

"Here see for yourself." Jesse said as he turned the laptop to face where I was.

"Hey babe!" I smiled looking at the computer and waving.

"Oh christ." Alex said shaking his head.

"Oof!" I exclaimed as Ken tripped me and I landed back on the bed. "You win! Now go hibernate! I wanna have cyber sex with my boyfriend." I said grabbing my laptop and running in to the bathroom.

"I don't think I even have to ask if you had a good time or not." He laughed.

"Best day ever!" I exclaimed making him smile, "What'd you do today?" I asked him as I took off the Mickey ears and sat in the bath tub.

"Nothing really, went to my parents' house for dinner that was about it."

"How's everyone?"

"They're doing good, they always ask how you're doing."

"Tell them I slayed dragons today."

"I'll make that my top priority."

"Sweet," I laughed.

"So when are we supposed to be going to Croatia for the wedding?" He asked me.

"Uhh" I paused and pulled my phone out of my pocket. "The wedding is July 11th so I guess maybe we'd get there the monday of so July 6th until July 20th?" I asked him.

"You want to be there for your birthday?"

"I don't see why not."

"Okay, do you want me to order the tickets this week just to get it done with since you come back when the 3rd of July?"

"Yup, are you sure though I could ask Niko to do it or my mom."

"I can do it Bella really." He laughed.

"Okay, thank you." I smiled.

"Bella, I gotta use the bathroom!" Jesse shouted banging on the door.

"Sorry." I mumbled getting up and coming out so Jesse could run in.

I talked to Alex for another hour or so until I called it a night because we both started falling asleep.

In the sprit of me always being busy, while on tour I had to plan Monica's bridal shower seeing as I was the maid of honor. I was in the middle of talking with my aunt on the phone a week later, while we were at a hotel in Washington State, making sure all the last minute details were done for the shower.

"Hvala Tetka Marina." I said as Ken took a seat next to me in the lobby.

"Speak english!" Ken exclaimed ten minutes later when I finally was off the phone.

"I can't she doesn't speak it." I laughed.

"What was that?"

"Croatian, I had to make sure everything was set for my cousin's bridal shower next month."

"You're such a tour manager." He laughed as we got up and headed out in search of coffee.
