When waters run deep
The next few days Denis and I showed Jesse around Zagreb. I saw Luka a few times as well and by friday it was Monica's rehearsal dinner.
I was upstairs getting dressed, in the light blue dress Jesse had helped me pick out right before we left for tour, and for the first time ever I wasn't wearing the locket Niko had given me. Instead I was wearing the treble clef necklace my parents had given me a few years ago.
"I told you the blue dress was better." Jesse said as I came down the stairs carefully so I wouldn't trip in my heels.
"Yeah, yeah I feel like Cinderella."
"Well where's your crown that unearth bought you?" He joked as him, and I left for the restaurant.
"For the record that was a Jasmine set, not Cinderella." I told him making him laugh.
The dinner was fun, I finally saw my brother Niko, and Angela. They were smart and decided to spend their time here at a hotel.
"Look even Luka told you that you should call him what are you waiting for?" Denis asked me while we were eating desert.
"I've been busy." I explained, once again we were on everyone's favorite topic why Bella should give Niko a call.
"And yet every night we've been here you've had time to hang out with Luka and Michi?" Jesse butted in.
"I hate you both, do you realize that?"
"Just call him!" The both urged.
"Fine I will call him, when we get back from the beach on Sunday okay?" I asked them, as
they both nodded.
"You'll thank us." Denis smirked as we got up to leave.
"I'll put that on top of my list of things to do." I said sarcastically.
"Bellishka wait!" Monica shouted, as I headed over to her and Luka.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Luka and I wanted to give you this. Thank you for everything Bellishka." She smiled as they both gave me a hug.
"Aw thanks." I smiled. "I'll see you tomorrow morning." I told her as I left with Denis and
Jesse.
"What'd she give you?" Denis asked as he drove Jesse and I back.
"Earrings that look like they match my dress." I said pulling one out, and passing it to Jesse.
"See she isn't so bad."
"She's not I'll admit I think her and I finally getting along." I smiled as I put them back in the box.
The next morning was pure chaos, I had to get up. shower, and make sure I had everything I needed before I headed over to my Aunt's house to get ready.
"Now Michi is going to take you and my baka to the church and the reception okay?" I asked Jesse as I ran out the door.
"See ya later Bella!" I heard him shout as I headed to my Aunt's house that was a 15 minute walk.
Once there, I changed in to my dress that was already there and after I changed and did my own make up I had to have someone do my hair. At first I was afraid Monica was going to make me look like a peacock when I sat the hair clip that was going to be put in my hair. It was a comb that had a blue flower made of feathers as well as black feathers around it. However, once my hair was curled and pinned up with it, I'll admit it looked nice. Soon we headed off to the church after taking a few pictures. The ceremony was long because unlike most of our already married cousins who had a simple 10 minute ceremony, Monica had opted for the hour long mass.
"I am so hungry." I whined to Denis who was also in the bridal party,while we were taking pictures in the church afterwards.
"Here," he said told me slipping me a piece of gum, "That should hold you over."
After what had felt like forever, we were finally on our way to the reception where we took another half hour worth of pictures before we could finally join everyone else. Luckily Monica gave me a break and sat Jesse, Michi, Ivan, Denis, Niko, Angela, and myself all at one table.
"Finally!" I exclaimed as I took a seat next to Jesse.
"Looking fly Bella." Jesse laughed, while I had my head in my hands feeling my stomach grumble again.
"You realize they still have to have their first dance right?" Niko asked me.
"Fuck!" I grumbled as I heard the DJ start introducing them.
"Come on Bella" Denis said getting up and extending his hand to me.
"I have to get up now don't I?" I asked Jesse who nodded.
"Fuck my life." I sighed taking Denis' hand and following him to the dance floor.
"Is it bad that everyone looks like a cheeseburger to me?" I asked Denis in Croatian.
"For you I'm pretty sure it's normal." He chuckled to me, as we danced.
A second later I heard someone ask to cut in,
"Naravno!" Denis exclaimed letting go of me and putting my hand in someone else's.
