‹ Prequel: Everything I'm Not

Love's Requiem

All that's left

"Stop thinking about it." Niko whispered in my ear while I was getting magazines and Jesse was getting coffee.

"Thinking about what?" I said playing dumb.

"Isabella, when are you going to realize I know better than you do sometimes?" He chuckled.

"Probably when people stop telling me that line." I mumbled rolling my eyes and putting the magazine in my hands back.

"As soon as you get back home and on tour you'll realize I am right." He told me as I went to pay for the magazines I decided to buy.

"I know you're right, I don't doubt that you're right. It's just" I paused to think about it. "Maybe, for the first time ever I've figured out where I belong."

"In New York, where you job, parents, brother, and friends are." He told me.

"Technically my job is in Virginia." I said being a smart ass.

"Whatever." He said rolling his eyes.

An hour later Jesse and I were about to head to our gate because our flight would be boarding in twenty minutes.

"It was great to finally meet you." Niko told Jesse as they shook hands and Jesse nodded giving him a smile before he started walking.

"Get home safe, and tell me when you land." Niko told me looking down at me.

"I will, I'll miss you." I said sadly, as he lifted my chin and gave me a mind blowing kiss.

"I'll miss you too." He said as he pulled away.

"Bye." I said as I hugged him, and jogged to catch up with Jesse.

I had three days before I had to be ready for warped tour and in Baltimore. Those three days were absolute hell for me, I was still feeling homesick since Jesse and I had gotten back, and I still didn't feel ready to even look at Alex.

"So are you actually going to drive the car or do I have to come and get you?" Jack asked
me over the phone.

Despite what had happened between Alex and I Jack still remained one of my close friends and no one really held any hostility towards me.

"I haven't decided yet." I mumbled as I put another pair of shorts in my suitcase. "I brought you home some of that chocolate you like." I added as I put that too in my bag.

"Then I will see you at dawn little lady!" He exclaimed as he hung up.

What I thought was a joke turned out to be the complete opposite, at 6 am Jack was ringing the bell waiting to be buzzed in.

"I thought you were kidding." I told Jack, as I held the door open for him.

"Well I wasn't." He said proudly, "Is that your bag?" He asked me pointing at the suitcase in the living room.

"Yup."

"Good, go shower while I put this in my trunk and then you want to grab breakfast before we leave?" He asked me as he went to grab the bag.

"Whatever you want." I told him, as I headed for the bathroom.

I showered, and ran through my apartment one more time making sure I had everything I needed packed and everything else shut off before I headed in my room to get dressed while Jack was making coffee in the kitchen. It was supposed to be about 95 degrees so I put on a pair of black shorts and a grey tank top, but I felt a little weird only wearing that so I through on a short sleeve blue plaid print shirt over it as well as a pair of brown sandals that had light blue beading.

"Ready?" Jack asked me as I through my backpack over my shoulder.

"I think so." I nodded as I grabbed the plastic bag with snacks in it as we left and I locked up.

After we stopped and ate breakfast at diner we finally hit the road to Baltimore. Of course an
hour in to the drive, the topic of Alex came up.

"Just forgive him Bella, you know this is stupid." Jack told me.

"Not that easy." I said shaking my head, "How do I know he won't side with her again."

"Cause you know he loves you."

"I know that he loves both of us."

"You know that's bullshit."

"Let me ask you this, is he still talking to Lisa?" I asked Jack.

Jack paused and looked like he was thinking.

"If he wasn't you would have already answered." I told him shaking my head.

"Look they've known each other for a very long time."

"And that justifies what she did as being okay?"

"In my opinion no, his apparently it does."

"Which is exactly why I can't forgive him yet, however I will be civil and be his friend so there's no hostility."

"Cause I'm sure that's exactly what he wants, to be friends." Jack mumbled.

We finally reached Jack's house around noon, and only stayed long enough of a quick bathroom stop and for Jack to get his bags before we headed out to Alex's house where the bus would be picking us up.

"Bella!" I heard Rian shout as I got out of Jack's car after getting off the phone with one of the people from warped.

I watched Alex quickly turn his head and look at me as I headed to where everyone was.

"Hey Guys," I said with a small smile as I hugged everyone. "Alex." I said giving him a smile, as he just nodded and headed in to his house.

"That went well." Jack commented just as the bus pulled up and we started loading everything on it.

Once everything was settled, bunks were picked and we were finally on the road I decided to talk to Alex who was watching TV by himself upfront.

"Hey can I talk to you?" I said quitely sitting next to him.

"What's up?" He asked looking at me and muting the TV.

"I just-well I-" I paused to try and figure out what I wanted to say, "I'm hoping that despite everything you and me can still be friends, you know like how we were?" I spit out finally.
