The Pill Upon Your Tongue;

I wish I’d known in my head that I shouldn’t have asked this girl for a cigarette. I should have let her walk on down the park path and not even looked in her direction. If I knew now what I knew then,

“Sure. That sounds cool. Where’s your house?”

Asking that question was an even bigger mistake than talking to Lily at all; that night, my life would slowly start to unravel at the seams until the threads tangled like broken fingers and everything that mattered turned into an acid tab dissolving on my tongue.
